Laura Bass Berry
Ok, I know this is too much info, but has anyone dealt with constipation on this diet? I thought with all this fiber I should be like clockwork, but in spite of already seeing results (by day 4) my poor tummy is swollen and unhappy. What am I doing wrong here???? TIA! Moderators Tom Denham Posted October 4, 2012 Moderators Share Posted October 4, 2012 You might not be doing anything wrong, but it would help to see a log of several days of what you are eating to troubleshoot. If you are not used to eating lots of protein and fat, you might have trouble digesting your food. That could explain the swollen tummy. In that case, you might benefit from taking digestive enzymes while your body adjusts to your new diet. Now Foods Super Enzymes are widely used in the paleo world. jmozoo16
I am having the same issue! I have not had a "normal" bowel movement all week and I started on the 1st. How is the super enzyme? Does it work? Is there anything else that may work?
Flynn
Try some large sweet potatoes with skin, pears or apples with skin, bananas, raspberries or several big carrots each day to give that fat and protein a big push to get things moving through...lots of water too
Min
Papaya is a terrific digestive enzyme. Same with bromelain (from pineapple). Raw food helps, too.
heatherdarbs
For some reason, I had a similar issue (unusual for me) when I was consuming a ton of raw veggies. The minute I started cooking them in coconut oil, everything was juuuuuuust fine. Who knows why; but I won't argue
TrayS
Seems to be a common issue, you are not alone. Ditto on the recommendation to eat sweet potatoes (and/or butternut squash) daily, for me it has really worked!
