Here we go.  My husband and I both suffer from auto-immune diseases.  He has Ankylosing Spondylitis and I Lupus, Sjogren's, Raynauds and Hypermobility Joint disorder.  The long and short of it, we have lots of joint pain and extreeme fatigue.  I did an elimination diet 2 years ago so I already know that gluten, sugar, dairy and soy make me feel crummy and if I avoid them I feel better.  Last summer I had a nasty run of Lyme disease that almost killed me, which if you ask me, I think triggered all of my AI disorders.  During that time I ate whatever someone else put in front of me.  I was very ill so food prep was out and eating meals prepared and brought to us by loving friends was how it had to be.  Plus with the heavy duty antibiotics I was taking, breads were all that seemed to soothe my tummy.   We already eat very well, but know that we need a jump start of sorts.  We are hoping for less pain, better sleep and some of that crazy energy we keep reading about.  We have 4 young children ages 11,10,5 and 4. We need to be able to keep up with our pack.

Now if you'll excuse me, we're having biscuits and gravy for lunch as a "last meal" of sorts.   We are a family that loves to eat and have many food traditions.  Here's to creating new, better traditions!
