Elkerster
I know there are a lot of June 1 starters on here. Anyone else start 5/30? Want to help keep each other going? Be going okay for far but in all honesty this is my second time starting. I originall started 5/16 but came down with horrible bronchitis starting on day 3. I'm still getting over it now. I ate clean except for my soup while I was sick but just because of the all the meds I was put on I figured it was best to do a re-start. So 5/30 is my re-start date. paigemaster
Hey there, I also started 5/30! Would love to have an online buddy since I'm doing this alone. How have you been so far? I've felt surprisingly ok, but was a bit tired today. And also experiencing some headaches. But nothing terrible, and I'm enjoying cooking! Happy end of day 3! Elkerster
Sorry been busy the last two days. I have been doing okay. No headaches his time so far which is great but still feeling really tired. Not sure if it's due to Whole30 and the last on the bronchitis that is still sticking around. Happy day 5!
paigemaster
Hey Liz, hope you're feeling better and getting over the bronchitis! I had a rough day yesterday - I hadn't gone to the gym since starting (the book made it sound like I should take it easy the first week) but I really wanted to go to my regular spin class on Saturday. I had a good breakfast beforehand and felt fine during the class but then afterwards I was wiped and felt exhausted for the rest of the day, even after eating lunch. Just laid on the couch and tried not to think about junk food. Anyway today was much better, got all my grocery shopping done and going to do some meal prep tonight for the week. Cheers to making it through our first week! - Paige
Elkerster
Happy Start of week two. I've been a bit tired myself however the last two days my biggest issues is I'm not very hungry at all. I had to force myself to eat something yesterday so I could get something in my system. Other than that I am going pretty well so far.
paigemaster
I was exhausted again yesterday, but thinking that may have been more of a combo of not enough sleep plus general Monday blues. Feeling much better today and am loving how I'm able to focus through my entire afternoon at work after lunch and not feel hungry. I used to get such a "food coma" after eating a carb and sugar-heavy lunch pre-Whole 30 (usually a sandwich and some sort of snack or dessert, too) but now I feel better, not worse, after lunch! A colleague also commented that I looked skinny today (I know weight loss isn't the goal of Whole30, but still felt nice to hear!) How are you doing/feeling? I've heard the next few days are often the hardest in terms of people wanting to quit. Stay strong, we can do it! -Paige
Elkerster
I'm doing okay today. I will admit I do feel like quickly. Since I original started 6/16 and only really started because of all the junk they had me talking while I was sick I have I would be almost done with the original Whole 30. I'm getting very tired of eggs and not having BBQ sauce with my burgers. Just about everything else I can deal with though. But I press on. I am starting to get my appetite back again so that's a good thing. Still feel a little sluggish but that may be related to other things. Happy day 10! paigemaster
Glad to hear your appetite's returning! I am definitely feeling the day 10 and 11 slump - getting sick of the food and not really experiencing any of the immediate positive benefits yet. I know these are the tough days, so just trying to press on as you've said. Hoping that it's all downhill from here! I've also been waking up exceptionally early (not in the middle of the night, but 2 hours or so before my alarm for work) which seems strange since I used to sleep soundly through the night, and I thought this was supposed to help you get *better* sleep? Have you noticed any differences in your sleep patterns? PS - in terms of swapping in something else for your BBQ sauce, do you like hot sauce? Most brands are Whole30 compliant and it adds a nice kick to burgers!
Elkerster
Sleep wise I actually have been better. Not sure what in all the junk caused it but I used to get up at least once a night to use the bathroom and now I don't. My cravings for soda have kicked back up but I have been able to fight that really well. My husband goofed the other day and put a little cheese in my omelette. I don't plain on restarting through since it was so little. I probably should but O dunno if I can really do this for another 30 days. Has your sleep gotten any better? paigemaster
Hey Liz, Nice job on fighting the soda cravings! I'm so sorry you mistakenly ate a little cheese. I definitely understand not wanting to start over, we've already come so far (can't believe it's already Day 17!!) I'm a little bummed because my stomach hasn't been feeling great yesterday and today - some digestive upset, feeling very bloated and a little nauseated. Not sure what's causing it, but I'm hoping it will work itself out. One of the reasons I wanted to do this program was to improve my digestive health since I've always had a pretty sensitive stomach and thought maybe dairy or gluten could be the culprit. My sleep has been up and down as well. I'm still not feeling any more energetic, which was another thing I'd hoped to get out of this. But again, I know we still have almost 2 weeks to go so there's still room for improvement... What were some of your reasons for wanting to do the Whole30?
