Salmon cake substitute

Oh, DO IT!  Seriously, have fun, experiment!  My guess is that you probably need more fat as white fish is quite lean... put a blob of lard or schmaltz or a good glug of whatever oil you normally use... or you could put a dollop of coconut oil in and make a more tropical tasting patty.


You may also want to change the spices... how about lemon juice, lemon rind, chopped up dill, some green onions (both ends) and maybe some capers?  White fish is going to want more subtle flavors than the salmon but you can totally do it!


I've taken the salmon cake recipe as a guide and made chicken burgers, pork burgers, different flavored salmon burgers, pork gyoza burgers... the idea is the same but I change up the seasonings...
