cirwin76
I've seen several places that this sauce is allowed, but sugar is listed in the ingredients section. Does anyone have any info on this?
Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted June 6, 2016 Moderators Share Posted June 6, 2016 If there is sugar listed in the ingredients of any product regardless of whether someone else says it's okay, it is not. If there is sugar listed in the nutritional information section but NOT the ingredients, then the product is fine. You must always look at your own product that you are going to purchase and consume and make sure that it is compliant... others may have overlooked the sugar, they may have not cared or the product could have changed or be different per region. Always look at your own product!
MissMommaK
I buy the Trader Joe's Marinara Sauce in the green can & sugar is not listed as one of the ingredients on my can. Maybe you are looking at a jarred variety? I believe they all have sugar added.
dpearson
There is a jarred variety called Organic Marinara and it's approved based on my ingredients list at my store. It's in a clear jar with a red label. It's really good! I had to look at 4-5 different jars to find one that was compliant to maybe you're not looking at the correct ones?
