Tired, Digestion issues and bored at Day 26 but I learned something

Recommended Posts

It's Day 26 for me and I have learned something valuable: I overate pistashios yesterday at lunch because I was bored with lunch of grilled chicken on salad.  The night before, dinner out was grilled salmon over salad and lunch yesterday was the exact same grilled chicken on salad.  I ate two portions of the salty pistachios out of boredom, not hunger. So I know I still have to work on some ingrained food eating habits, I am ignoring my body's satiation signals and  I have to plan/make my lunches at home.  I was also very tired yesterday, enough to get a half cup of black coffee.  I couldn't keep my eyes open at work, which is strange.  The end result was some major painful digestion issues again this morning.

Lesson learned (at the expense of my digestive system):  Plan out my meals, get more sleep and stop to focus/meditate to reconnect to how I am actually feeling.

Opinions on extending my Whole30 as I work on some of these things?  I never went through the no energy/Kill all the Things stage earlier in the process and I really would like to get to normal bathroom/digestion schedule.  Before Whole 30 this was a continuing issue for me that I had hoped I would address with this program.

TIA.

Hey Lacey;

Aside from being bored with your food, it looks like you're probably not eating enough... salad is not very filling and when you consider the 1-3 cups of veggies, that doesn't really apply to salad greens... you need a wheelbarrow to make enough volume... I would also wonder about how much protein you're eating on these salads and how much fat... This level of tired at this stage of the game is often because your body is starting to slow down its functions because it's not getting enough food... makes you feel tired...

Depending on your gender and time of the month, it's also possible that you are coming near or on your period which makes a majority of women extremely ravenous and also can affect your hunger... not eating enough at this time of the month can make things exponentially worse...

If you want to list out a few days of what you've been eating including portion sizes, fluid intake, sleep and anything else you think might be relevant, we can look and see if there's anything to be tweaked... besides what Tom said... salad gets booooooring! ;)

The multiple salads were a result of lack of planning on my part.  I have had too many work events, travels and work dinners that side tracked my planning.  I have learned to enjoy cooking and have made some great recipes.  This week was less than ideal.  I am going shopping tonight and will be looking up new recipes.  I will be back on track.
