feelalive
I'm starting this journey tomorrow! I will need to check in here to read about others struggles and successes during their whole30 experiences to keep me motivated and on track. Recently my partner has dove into the world of Paleo eating, and he loves it and feels good. I have tried to get on board with him but I have really struggled a lot. I find myself indulging in Paleo treats made with maple syrup and cocoa powder and way too many almonds and cherries. I've also cheated during my work days when nobody is holding me accountable to my choices. I desperately want to be in control of my diet and lose weight. I don't want to be addicted to sugar any more. I don't want to be tempted every day. I know we are hardwired to want certain foods that are not healthy for us, but this compulsion feels more like an obsession at times, and I'm sick and tired of feeling sick and tired! This is it. Tomorrow is the day!
Banjolele
Hey feelalive I too am starting June 10 (NZ time) and would love to go on this journey with you! I'm a terrible sugar addict and have tried MANY times over the last two decades to stop. But this morning I had chicken soup for breakfast! And I've ordered sugar free bacon from the butcher. So here goes!!!
feelalive
I hadn't even thought of bacon as having sugar in it, but it totally does! i will have to order some sugar-free bacon too. I'm so glad you wrote. I love the idea of starting this on the same day as someone across the world from me (Canada). I had a meal from Whole30 tonight for dinner (spaghetti squash and meat sauce), but tomorrow I cut out all sugar. It will be an interesting week ahead... let's keep in touch! Banjolele
Yes I'd love that, lets keep in touch. Have almost finished day one. While I was at the butcher I also got myself some sausages that are 100% just meat and salt and pepper, no breadcrumbs or preservatives. I've frozen them so I have something quick on hand when I need it, like tonight. Friday night is the family fish & chips night so I'll be having my sausage with pre roasted (waiting to be reheated) potatoes and a salad. It is such a lot of preparing but I'm already seeing why you have to do it!!
