AchtungBaby
Hello, I've been researching paleo and Whole 30-friendly recipes in preparation for starting my own Whole 30 on July 1st. I found an otherwise compliant recipe that involves some boiled corn. Are there any suitable substitutes for corn eaten as actual food (ie not corn starch, corn syrup etc). Please advise. Thank you! Karen_Suep
What part does the corn play in the recipe? Is it texture? If so, just leave it out. If it's a starch, try other forms of starch, but be aware each starch has a little bit different set of properties
AchtungBaby
It's specifically for this recipe here: http://lexiscleankitchen.com/2013/08/13/mexican-avocado-gazpacho-with-cajun-chili-shrimp/ It's pretty much just part of a topping. Thanks!
Moderators Tom Denham Posted June 15, 2016 Moderators Share Posted June 15, 2016 You do not need a substitute. Just leave it out. I am moving this from the Can I have section because you know you cannot have corn. I am moving it to the cooking section.
Karen_Suep
If it's just topping, leave it out. Maybe find another veggie to use there instead if you want texture added.
