Hi everyone!

My name is Jean and I am currently studying in Singapore. I heard about this Whole30 program through a podcast called 'Happier' by Gretchen Rubin when it talked about the importance of having good habits. I know good eating habits are important, but because it is so easy to eat out here I have not been cooking for a while since I moved here. I hope to reset my eating habit through Whole30. Also, on a separate note, I've been having some indigestion problem lately, and I wonder if that is related to what I eat. I don't have any particular food allergies I am aware of - apart from being lactose intolerant. I'm hoping Whole30 would be helpful in at least testing if this is due to the food I'm consuming.

This is my first time trying out the Whole30, and I'm excited for the next 29 days to come. I shared my plan with some of my close friends - of which two of them decided to join me - but they said they weren't sure if they would go for all 30 days. In any case, I'm grateful and happy that I got to start it off at least with my friends. From the forum, I realized at least a handful of people were starting on the same day - June 16. Looking forward to the support from the forum - on any helpful tips from the experienced and on the moral support front from the newbies like myself!

Wishing everyone a successful Whole30 :)

Good for you for making the choice to change your habits...that is the hardest step of all. I just finished my second round and I know my husband is annoyed, because it did help me to change my eating habits. He is annoyed because I no longer make all the yummy, and unhealthy, dishes that he loved! I had a terrible relationship with Doritos before starting a Whole 30, and now I'm proud to say that I haven't had a Dorito since January 16th...wow...it's my anniversary! I should get a medallion or something!

I'm sure you will do great! Preparation is the key and make sure you have a few go-to items on hand so if you are ever stuck in a bind you have a little something to munch on.

Thanks jolong for the encouragement- and congrats on your anniversary!

It sounds like Doritos to you are chocolates for me. I think when I feel stressed I tend to consume more of it also.. We'll see how it goes without chocolate/ sugar all together for the next 29 days.

Also, having go-to items/snacks is a really good advice. Thanks! :)
