JulieG2016
Hi all. I'm on day 22 and have best buddies on day 24. We're all doing great; have more energy and feeling good about ourselves! However, when discussing our journeys we are noting the same effects: anger!! What's this about? Are others noticing this too? Background info, and not to be too detailed: I've struggled with weight my whole life, so at 56 I have some pretty entrenched habits/ downfall triggers. But I eat a pretty clean diet anyway and avoid gluten and dairy and do best on veggies and meat and salads. BUT I love wine on weekends and often "go off" my regular plan on weekends which usually starts the sugar cravings back, 'cuz I love my carbs and desserts which used to be a "special treat" and had become more routine. AND I'm a foodie and a budding craft cocktail maven! Sooo, guess I'm grieving about the loss of my prior food soothers and happy and sad about my current reality? I'm noting (as do my Whole30 friends) a real vulnerability. Guess food has numbed me out. Glad I have a good therapist who's helping me figure it out! Just wondering what others are experiencing? Thanks for reading and considering!
Kaelisan
I think this is a normal reaction to not having your old friend, food, to comfort. I experienced this when I did my W30. I'm doing a slow reintro now and don't go to junk for comfort anymore. That being said, I had a very emotional experience today and grabbed a cinnamon bun to test. I have been craving one for a few days now. I ate 1/3 and threw the rest away. It did NOTHING for me! I'm already burping it!
Administrators ladyshanny Posted June 20, 2016 Administrators Share Posted June 20, 2016 Experiencing heightened emotions of any genre (sadness, anxiety, anger etc) is pretty normal. Make sure you are eating enough at your meal times as under-eating can magnify these heightened feelings.
