lil_wendy
Are essential oils allowed? Often I put a few drops of peppermint in my water to freshen my breath and decrease my gum consumption. Also any tips on breaking the gum addiction?
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted June 20, 2016 Moderators Share Posted June 20, 2016 Essential oils are okay. Google whole30 gum for past discussions, but I know people sometimes will eat a mint leaf or brush their teeth if you're chewing the gum for breath freshening. If you chew it for dry mouth, there's not a lot you can do other than drink more water.
lil_wendy
Ok thanks! I had searched for gum but it said I had to have at least 4 characters not 3.
Administrators ladyshanny Posted June 21, 2016 Administrators Share Posted June 21, 2016 Ok thanks! I had searched for gum but it said I had to have at least 4 characters not 3. Use google to search this forum, it works better. Just type "Whole30 gum" as an example and you'll get forum hits as some of the first results. Arwenivere
It is never safe to ingest essential oils unless directed by a certified aromatherapist.
LeePalmer
I would say it is even dangerous, please consult a professional, better aromatherapist. It depends on the oil, of course, but some of them have rather strong effect ( and even cure hemorrhoids ), please be careful.
MeadowLily
They should be medicinal/food grade. Use good common horse sense when it comes to eating wild mushrooms, aroma/essential oils, wild herbs and flowers. If you don't have an aromatherapist in your neck of the woods, there's always google or call the CDC while enroute to the hospital.
