Fiance and I are starting July 1- anyone else?

My fiance and I are starting Whole30 on July 1. I am already eating paleo(ish), he's SAD, so it'll be somewhat easier for me but I have been having health problems and the testimonials give me hope that going super clean will help, and both he and I need to lose weight.

Are any other people starting around July 1? Would love to have some folks to talk to as we do this.

I did my first w30 starting May 4 and felt amazing doing it. Reintroductions started on plan and then finished off kind of weak, followed by a vacation with mixed eating compliance. I'm doing my second w30 starting July 1 as well and can't wait to feel as wonderful as I did with my first! You'll be in good company with the rest of us doing it come July. :)

Hi Dena,

I´m also starting July 1st. I have also been eating Paleoish for about a year and a half, on and off, but just recently decided it wasn´t enough and opted to try my first whole30. However, I´ll be doing mine alone- I´m not sure if that´s better or worse. Would be happy to keep in touch and share progess, etc! Good luck

Sounds like this is a good group fir me. I've been eating "primarily paleo" for almost two years, and feel better, but still have flare-ups from time to time. My husband is supportive, but will be eating some non compliant foods, like peanut butter! And Pearson mints!

I am nearly finished reading Whole 30, and hope to do my week 1 menu plan this afternoon (Sunday, June 26). My start date is July 1. I am a little apprehensive about doing such a strict program, even though I know it' is what I need to do! I have been overweight my entire life (currently 25 lbs) and feelings of deprivation can derail my good intentions.

By the way, I am 75 years old, retired, and live in Central Mexico. My favorite activities are Scrapbooking, dancing, swimming, yoga and cooking. We eat mostly at home, but dine out 2-3 times a week.

Hey, great to have more people on board! I am also a bit apprehensive and worried about my ability to stick with this, but I too feel it's what I need to do. I started reading the book today and I'm trying to take the advice as seriously as possible, hence joining the forum and trying to create a support network to keep myself accountable and share experiences. I have never, ever participated on any forums or blogs, so this will also be a learning experience in itself.

I'm a US native but live have been living in various parts of Spain for the last 8 years and while some foods aren't available to us here, but there is certainly enough to make a whole30 possible! I love reading, cooking, running, dancing, hiking and being outside in general, but the "hobby" that is going to make this month the most difficult with be that I really love craft beer and wine and going out to enjoy a drink or two with friends....(ahhh a cold beer in the sun on the beach, I'll miss you!) Thinking of substituting this with yoga, reading, hot tea and forum support.

Looking forward to it and speaking to you all!

I am also starting on July 1st. I did a pseudo whole30 couple months ago and have been eating paleo on and off for a about 3 weeks. I made it a full 10 days on paleo before chocolate entered my life again :) However, I really need to commit so I picked a date and here I am.

I think I'll use the Week One meal plan and recipes to make the start-off easy. Most of my current recipes and food shopping are paleo-based, so I can make easy substitutions if I must. Biggest challenges for me will be: no natural sweeteners (like honey), no dairy (I like a local organic yogurt with my berries), and no rice! I'll have to give up my Primal protein shakes, too, which I have as a meal or healthy snack once or twice a week.

I suspect that I may eventually have to try the version with no nightshades, or low FODMAPS, but for now, I plan to do a"perfect" Whole 30 and see where it takes me.

Those are great ideas for alternatives!
