jmusch
Maybe your body is just adjusting and that's why you feel like you're gaining! Hopefully if you stick it out you'll see a shift!
Staggolee41
Day 9 here too, and I'm feeling HUGE. So I feel your pain. But if your eating patterns prior to this point were shaped like a sinusoid, with lots of highs and lows, instead of a straight line (like many of us who are coming to the plan), your body is going to take this chance at consistency to find the baseline again. This plan isn't about losing weight because what that baseline looks like isn't up to you. It's up to past you, nature/genetics, environment, and so many other things that aren't necessarily within your control. What is within your control is to make healthier choices, and this plan is one way to lead you to the water. You have to choose to drink it, which you are doing, and for that, you must be commended. Once you establish your baseline, you can start to make changes, which is a big part of the reintroduction process. Let your body have a chance to catch up, whether that means losing or gaining weight, and don't compare your loss/gain to others' losses/gains. That's why we don't get on the scale during the plan. It's also not about them and their different histories... this is about you. Observe the positives AND the negatives, and remember that you said Yes to hitting the reset button. You CAN do this! ajzhealthylife
Thank you! Curiosity will carry my through these next 21 day. I really want to change and I know if you want something you've never had (healthy relationship with food) then I need to do something I've never done (look at me go !) . I just contcted a local celebrate recovery group and will be attending my first meeting Thursday, I need the mental support and to really get at what drives my irrational relationship with my body and food. It is time to really put the work in to get what I want, freedom and self love.
Staggolee41
I can't wait to hear your results. Even if you gain weight, I'm sure this will be healthier overall for you. Feel free to join the Strength in Numbers thread - there are lots of supportive, friendly posters who have good input. Most of us started around the same time as you, so we'll have a good idea of what you're experiencing.
