Boozegoeswhole30
My name is Suzanne and I'm starting W30 for the first time July 5th. I've found I'm great at working out but I on,y maintain if I don't keep my nutrition on track. I'm hoping the W30 will kill my sugar dragon and cravings for junk food in general. I'm a little nervous about being able to stick to the plan but I will power through this!
dbbsommers
Hi Suzanne, my name is Debbie. I am doing the whole30 for the 2nd time. I am also starting on July 5th. What I can tell you is it works. I just need a refresher, to get some things back on track. I have been able to get my sugar cravings under control since my first Whole30 and it has been over year now. You can do this. I am here if you need support.

jenni4
Good Afternoon! My name is Jennifer and I am starting W30 today, July 5! My daughter finished a month ago and her success has inspired me. Missed my coffee with loads of creamer this morning....but forging on with a W30 lunch! It helps to think that others are starting this journey today as well. Boozegoeswhole30
Hi everyone! I hope everyone is doing well! I work 2nd shift so I'm off in the mornings. Typically I wake up and do my workout right away. I wasn't sure what to eat before my workout though so I skipped and just went straight to the gym. Afterwards, breakfast went well this morning. I have issues with eggs (all mental. Looking at raw eggs or even discussing the Snott like look of them makes me want to vomit so I usually only do eggbeaters.) but I sucked it up and made an omelet with 2 whole eggs. Missed having cheese on my eggs but I tossed in a lot of veggies and some sausage plus a side of roasted sweet potatoes. I was too full to eat the watermelon i had planned with it so no fruit. I'm still a little nervous about how my 30 days will go but I'm trying to do 1 day at a time. I have some meals planned and will be tracking them in a notebook. Shirl
Hi! I'm Shirl and I'm also starting today! I've got my husband, sister, brother in law and both parents doing it with me so hopefully we can all help encourage each other! I have a generally good diet to begin with so I'm not too worried about being able to stay compliant but I work in a neighborhood with awful lunch options. Today is rough because I didn't bring lunch with me so I'm hoping to cut out a little early and make a late lunch at home. Wishing you all the best during your next 30 days! bloombunchmama
Hello all! I'm Marcy and I started today. So far, so good.(but I am thinking about chocolate!) I think the hardest thing at the moment is going to be giving up the dairy. I have goats and I make cheese, kefir, yogurt, and cajeta(you don't even want to go there! Caramelized milk and sugar-that's why I waited to start today, the 4th of July means homemade ice cream around here). But it is only 30 days and I have done sugar and flour free for longer for Lyme disease. The sugar has kind of crept back in(see above!) So, here's to slaying that sugar dragon! Eatcleanmama
I'm excited to start my first Whole 30 today too!! Too much bad food on vacation--need to slay the sugar dragon once and for all!!Let's do this.

JayRod
Hi everyone! Starting my first Whole 30 today, too! The program doesn't seem too different from how I normally eat, but I sure will miss my wine and cheese. Looking forward to giving and getting support with this community. Whole_K8
Hi all! I'm starting my 2nd Whole30 today - completed my first in March. I've maintained a 10+ pound loss but have definitely fallen off the wagon and let the foods that don't make me feel best creep back in: dairy, especially. So I'm committing again and am determined to do re-introduction right this time and figure out what's best for me. I'm also going to try to complete a half marathon in October - so this time I'll also be exercising, which should make things interesting! Today has been good so far: got a bit of meal prep in this am, and have a plan for the next few days. Wishing you all (and me) luck!
Just Yesterday
Started my second Whole30 today as well. Last time was October 2015. Need to get some bad habits back under control.
Astrdomitter
Hi everyone Day 1 is in the books. I'm feeling okay. I missed some things but did not crave anything yet...my dinner was not big enough and will work on eating more.
Just Yesterday
Day 3 is done. How is everyone doing? This is my 2nd whole 30....but to be honest, its my second attempt at a second. One thing I've learned is to keep it simple during the week. No complicated recipes...just simply cooked chicken or fish or pork and a few veggies. Always a big salad for lunch. Love eggs so I generally have eggs (either scrambled or over easy), sauteed spinach and either butternut squash or sweet potatoes for breakfast. Think this coming weekend will be the 1st challenge. Boozegoeswhole30
Hi Just Yesterday! Seems like you have a good plan in place. Realistically, eating meat and veggies seems so simple yet I'm struggling. Mainly with the timing of my meals and eating my veggies. I work shift work from 3pm-11pm and sometimes overtime. Typically I wake up and go straight to the gym then eat breakfast immediately afterwards. I was used to eating some almonds before the gym or nothing at all so I need to figure out a quick pre-wo snack. I also struggle with eating my green veggies. I attended the ranch dressing from the book and it was gross. I'll be researching for another recipe to try. I worked a 12 hour shift last night and ended up having a 4th meal of a hamburger with mustard and plain sweet corn on the cob. (Everyone else ate takeout from a local greasy place). I just feel like my meals aren't balanced with enough green veggies.
Chefzhat
Like "Just Yesterday" this is my second attempt at my second Whole 30. I started 7/4. This time around seems to be going better, not sure why. I think it's because I'm doing it on my own and not with another person who is doing their first round. I was jealous of all their great results and "newness" but on the second round you don't get that so much. Anyway, it's Saturday morning, I've had my venison sausage and eggs, have lunch and dinner planned, and am feeling good. Trying to download PokemonGo! so I can have some fun on my walk today! A bit about me: Did my first round in January, lost 11 pounds and (I thought) broke my binge eating habit. Then, as things are wont to go, lost my head and went back to all my crap habits. Except for dairy - I totally don't eat dairy anymore. At least I learned something from the first time around! I'm 54, and am hoping to be looking and feeling great by 8/19 - the day I turn 55. I'm old enough to break the binge eating issues, yes? Have a nice weekend everyone!

Hope to iron out the kinks this time around and we share a goal of wanting to end binge eating once and for all. Six days in and it's amazing how different my attitude to food is. It's difficult to explain but i feel calmer about food and definitely more in control. Because I went right off the rails after my first W30, I may extend this one to see if I can't beat this once and for all. I am sure you will reach your August goal and have an amazing birthday!! Just Yesterday
Hey Boozegoeswhole30. If you think ranch dressing will help you through this challenge, give one from this website a try. I make is using avocado oil and dill. Follow the directions exactly. All the spices really make the difference. I think it really is good. (And I don't like normal ranch dressing). She has lots of other nice sauces and dressings. http://www.planksloveandguacamole.com/2014/05/ranch-dressing.html

Astrdomitter
How is everyone doing after the weekend? My husband and I went to the movies yesterday and only had water and unsweetened tea. It was weird not getting popcorn but we did it.

It was weird not getting popcorn but we did it. I agree. the first time I didn't get popcorn at the movies was also weird. ive worked all weekend so it went pretty well. I've made some great progress with my will power at work. I worked two 12 hour shifts this week (3p-3a) so I packed some extra food. I ended up having 4 meals but my last two were smaller. I also passed up pizza 3 times in the 6 days since I've started which is a huge accomplishment for me. I'm still struggling with eating enough veggies but I've definitely increased the amount from previous to whole30. I hope everyone has a good work week! I'm on my days off and will be doing some meal prepping.
