vane914
HELP! breadfruit flour- I found this at my local seafood shop and I was instantly intrigued, I had never hear of this before. The label reads: "breadfruit flour is made form the fruit of the tropical Breadfruit tree (Artocarpus altilis) which is a staple of crop developed over thousands of years by the indigenous peoples of Oceania and the Caribbean.breadfruit is organically and regionally grown. Low temperature drying, minimum UV exposure and stone milling secure the nutritional values of the breadfruit rich in iron, high in fiber, and gluten free." --more info can be found at www.signahaiti.com/bio-products Is this whole 30 approved? or possibly considered paleo? Thanks for the help guys
quotidianlight
Bread fruit isn't a grain so should be fine. It's a starchy fruit if I remember right and commonly cooked with salt fish.
Robin Strathdee
I would add: use the same rules for this starch as you would for coconut. And almond flours. No replicating breads, baked goods, etc. Breading meats or thickening sauces is totally fine
