Water retention normal?

Hey all! I've been noticing sweet potatoes make me retain water / feel inflamed ... Wonder if this has happened to anyone else? I drink 1+ gal water a day , workout ect but definitely notice a difference after eating baked sweet potatoes ... Possibly the sugar / starch doesn't settle well with my body? I just think this is so odd so wanted to see if this happens to anyone else? The white sweet potatoes and orange cause this. Thanks!
