lunawishs
Hello, I'm on day 4 of my reintroduction phase. On day 1, I reintroduced 1/4 cup of black beans with my bfst and a tbsp of peanut butter with lunch. After bfst, I just felt sluggish, but after lunch, I felt really fatigued and weak that I decided to skip legumes with my dinner. I felt ok the next two days when I went back to my regular whole 30. This morning, I added 1/4 cup of quinoa with my bfst and I have the same sensation I had after eating beans, just slightly sluggish. I guess I do have sensitivity to both legumes and GF grains. So do people usually have the same reaction to foods they are sensitive to? What are the symptoms that I should look for? Thanks in advance. Moderators ShannonM816 Posted July 8, 2016 Moderators Share Posted July 8, 2016 Sometimes you could have the same reactions to things, sometimes not. Possible reactions could be the sluggishness/foggy headed feeling, digestive issues (anything from gas to diarrhea to bloat to constipation), headaches, rashes, joint pain, acne -- not all of these are super common, they're just possible. Sometimes they don't show up if you just have a little of something, but if you had a bunch of it, or if you had a little every day over a longer period of time, you might notice symptoms, so even if you have things you reintroduce that you feel you don't react to, if you make them a regular part of your diet going forward, continue to pay attention to how you feel, and if you find you feel less good than you did on Whole30, then they may be having an effect on you. Some things, especially sugar, but also dairy or wheat for some people, cause emotional symptoms like anxiety or depression. Especially if you have a history of these, be sure you pay attention to your moods going forward so that if you notice these types of things, you can take care of them quickly. I'm sure I've missed some less common symptoms, but these are probably the most reported. If you notice anything different, you can always take a few days of Whole30 eating to get back to feeling good, and then try the item again and see if you get the same result, especially if the symptoms feel like they might be food related, or might be related to things like stomach bugs or seasonal allergies and you want to be sure which it is. violetta
I think you need to separate the GF grains and quinoa. Quinoa is a different kind of grain and although eating it makes me feel like i want to die, white rice and other grains do not. I would try a GF intro without quinoa to check it out. lunawishs
Thank you so much for your replies. I guess I'll just have to try different kinds of food separately and see. I'll also separate the quinoa from the rest of GF grains and see what happens.
