Suzysue
I am having wrist surgery on Monday so this weekend I am cooking for the whole week. I am planning to make some one pot meals I can freeze. How do I know if I should cook first then freeze or freeze first and then cook/bake? I have seen a few recipes that say if freezing wait to bake. Mistyfire
I cook most of my food, then freeze and reheat. Ratatouille, chile, skillet curies... Good luck with your surgery!
slc_melissa
It probably depends on the type of meal. I've not done any of these recipes myself, but I have seen a bunch of recipes for the slow cooker especially that call for freezing, then cooking. However, personally I always cook, then freeze. That way you can cook a big batch of whatever, say chili, then freeze it in individual portions as needed. Also, to me personally, prepping, then freezing, then cooking seems to spread out the time and days needed to complete the meal. I'd rather do it all in one day.
