Sqwerelgod
Hi! First time Whole30ers. My wife is at home with a teething (but so far, pretty chill) 1 yr old. We don't have AC, and when the humidity comes through and presses down on her, she can get really down on not being able to have a popsicle or something equally as cool to keep her body going. Yeah, I know, breaking habits. But this is one that is created not by craving or chemical, but by the environment. If it's not hot, we don't have them in our house. So, this is less of a 'can I have', and more of a 'what can I have.' Is there anything Whole 30 approved that can keep her cool somehow? It doesn't have to be sweet. We were thinking of using fruit juice to make our own popsicles. Pants-on sex, but only when absolutely necessary. Be well! -Tyler
Administrators ladyshanny Posted July 15, 2016 Administrators Share Posted July 15, 2016 Cold water, cold sparkling water, cold fruits? There is nothing about sucking on frozen juice for 2 minutes that is overall going to bring her body temperature down to any significant degree. More likely it sounds like she's just bummed about not being able to treat herself while she's feeling icky/stressed. Sucks...........
laura_juggles
I don't know where you live, but can she spend the day hanging out at the library or mall walking or something that will get her and the kiddo into a place *with* AC when the heat is oppressive? Does she have a fan? I'm a good-sized person and I get toasty pretty easily, but tolerate it a lot better with some moving air blowing on me, even if the air is the same temperature as the rest of the house.
