Halfway through 1st Whole30

I am 14 days into my first Whole30 round and so far it has been a really great experience for the most part.  I am enjoying feeling my body go through all the different phases and am amazed by how spot-on the schedule in the book is!

Except for today.  I woke up with a massive headache, feeling like I am hungover as can be and craving every greasy, fatty food under the sun.  I am not sure why this is happening or how to stop it, hopefully it only lasts for a day!  I am also a little bummed out because my friend who was doing the Whole30 with me decided to stop a few days ago, so that was a bit of a bummer as I no longer have an "accountabili-buddy".

But back to the good stuff!  I've been having so much fun cooking for myself using Whole30 compliant ingredients!  I went to culinary school and love to cook for other people, although cooking for myself has always been boring for me, but not anymore.  It's so much fun to follow Whole30 pages on instagram and pinterest and get all sorts of inspiration from them, as well as find some really delicious recipes,  I highly recommend using these resources if you don't already.

Food for Today:

Frittata with compliant bacon, mushrooms, onions and scallions

Leftover spaghetti squash with homemade romesco sauce and spicy ground pork

STEAK (very excited about this!) and balsamic glazed sweet potatoes and brussel sprouts.  Maybe some spicy crispy greenbeans as well.

Best Caesar salad dressing recipe:

3 soft boiled eggs

2-3 cloves garlic

juice of 1.5 lemons (more or less to taste)

pinch of mustard powder

1/2 cup EVOO

salt and pepper to taste

Put all ingredients in food processor.  Can be kept for 3-4 days in fridge.  Really good with romaine lettuce and grilled chicken!  I usually don't measure the ingredients, I just kind of eyeball it and taste it until it's right.  Also works as a good dipping sauce for veggies, particularly artichokes.

Make sure you are adding fat to each meal, your cravings for greasy could just be your body calling for fat.  Most cooking fat stays in the pan so we recommend adding at least one additional source to each meal.

That caesar salad dressing sounds great!
