XeniaM00
Hello, I am on Day 29 and I have been feeling poorly for the past 10 tens or so. Headaches, diarrhea, intermittent cramps. I have no idea what is causing these symptoms because I eat very simple food- nothing exotic or unusual and nothing I suspect I am sensitive to. When it's all over, how can I proceed with the reintroduction? Since I already feel awful, how will I know if that dab of cheese or smidgen of rice is causing distress? I already have distress. How to differentiate? Before the Whole30 I pretty much had a Paleo+dairy diet so the Whole30 didn't really seem terribly different. I always did eat a lot of eggs with no ill effect so I don't think it's eggs, although I surely have eaten many more eggs since I began the Whole30. When one's innards are unsettled, one does not want to eat a lot of vegetables, especially salad, so I haven't been able to stick to the template as of late. But I didn't eat any forbidden foods. Any advice?
Administrators ladyshanny Posted July 19, 2016 Administrators Share Posted July 19, 2016 Short answer: you can't process reintroductions while you are already feeling sick. You might have a stomach bug although 10 days seems rather long for a bug. You could post a few days of typical food intake and we can take a look and see if anything stands out. Have you started relying on nuts/nut products? Those cause digestive distress in almost all cases.
XeniaM00
My menus for the past week have not been a typical Whole30 because I have not been emphasizing the veggies. But I have been eating scrambled eggs with spinach and tomatoes for breakfast, chicken with either roasted or steamed veggies or salad for lunch, and leftovers for dinner. As I said, I have not felt like eating much, especially a lot of bulky veggies. I've eaten a very modest amount of sweet cherries and almost no nuts. Before the upset, I did eat almond butter on apples, but not excessively. I cook the eggs in ghee and dress the salads in olive oil. I drink mostly water or tea. My only condiment is coconut aminos, which I like very much. So basically, eggs, veggies, and chicken.
Administrators ladyshanny Posted July 19, 2016 Administrators Share Posted July 19, 2016 My guess then is you either have a bug or you need to go and see your doctor. Nothing about what you are or have been eating should lead to your symptoms unless you are allergic/sensitive to these things.
XeniaM00
Ok, thanks. I was thinking along the same lines.
XeniaM00
I don't blame this on the Whole30, by the way. I think something else is causing my problems.
