Natalie.s.a
I hope the answer is no, by the way. LOL It's day 7 of my W30, and I've been recording my experience daily. My problem is actually written in this post: http://forum.whole9life.com/topic/3604-natalies-whole30/page__view__findpost__p__32759 But basicly, I had aome coconut milk in my coffee that I later realized had Mannitol in it, which is some sort of sugar! (Only a few sips) Do I really need to start over?
Moderators Tom Denham Posted October 8, 2012 Moderators Share Posted October 8, 2012 You do not have to start over. Just take it as a lesson in the importance of checking ingredients and keep going. Sugar is important, but does not cause as much trouble as wheat and dairy, so an accident with sugar is not a reason to start over.
Natalie.s.a
Thank you so much! I definitly learned my lesson. After I noticed, I stopped drinking my coffee and got rid of the rest of the coconut milk. I searched the web for compliant coconut milk in Israel andI found an israeli primal blog that helpped a lot with finding a brand that contains only coconut and water There's still hope! Derval
It can be confusing with the E numbers when they don't say what it is in brackets. I guess anytime you see one you need to google it
Kris Wilson-Slack
I'm glad you answered this, Tom. I'm on Day 10 and just went to a picnic. I am careful about everything, being annoying to people who push things at me by asking if there's sugar, wheat, etc. I got a 'safe' iced tea and took one sip to find out it had sugar in it. Of course I stopped drinking it but was afraid I would have to start over completely. I do feel better and will definitely not take even signs at their word! bernadette
I realized that several things I had been eating and thinking were Whole 30 compliant weren't. Things I wouldn't even think to check like herbal tea. (had soy lechiten), sausage (dextrose) and when I asked if the broccoli at a restaurant had butter the waiter told me no. Clearly when I took a bite it did. So just be sure to check the ingredients ALWAYS even if it is something you think you won't have to worry about.
