livzweig96
Is algae oil okay to use? I was told that it is good to sauté vegetables in this oil because it is light. I can't find anything on it? An example would be Thrive, a brand of algae oil that seems to be pretty popular.
Administrators ladyshanny Posted July 22, 2016 Administrators Share Posted July 22, 2016 I would think it's fine. Never heard of it before today but appears to be made exclusively from algae and is not cut with anything. I'll ask the Headmistress though, just to be sure. Unless it's incredibly refined I don't have much of an issue, and there is nothing about it that renders it not compliant for the Whole30. So yes, it's a go. (MUFA= monounsaturated fatty acids, PUFA= polyunsaturated fatty acids)
