Kaatje64
Whole30 no 4 It's been too long and I've completly fallen off the wagon. Eating everything that I shouldn't and more. Although our eating pattern is not bad, it's all the extra's I'm eating which are so very wrong. And I know I'm doing it, I know it's not good and I don't feel good, but the sugar dragon is too strong. I have to tackle it and the best way to do it is with a Whole 30. So Monday 8-1 is the day. ItsTyme
Ok, this is my 3rd start on Whole30. I managed 16 days in June and the results were amazing! After 7-9 days digestive issues and stomach pain after eating Gone! After 14 days I actually slept 8 hrs ( my norm 4-5 hrs with nighttime raiding kitchen for whatever). I had energy, felt great. Then I let a stressful situation take over . The key then was I hurt my back and couldn't drive for 10 days. So I didn't have access to the junk food-- the other 2 attempts really were not 100% whole30 I allowed cheats. Now it's Time to Slay The Sugar Dragon! I started whole30 August 1 but woke to my pups barking then wondered into kitchen open can ravioli -- hello processed food-- pasta--and it wasn't until I finished that it hit me! So August 3 is my new begin date. I will clean out the kitchen and I WILL complete Whole30 and feel awesome!!! I decided by sharing this openly as a way to hold me accountable. I'm female, in my 60s, a sugar addict , worked a job I traveled for months sometimes almost a year living in hotels and eating out. And sat 11 hOur days 6 days a week at computer doing a high stress job. Gained 37#. My hardest time is after 3pm getting worse by 6-7pm.

Hi, Please join our Aug1st start group, it's an accountability group where we're all sharing the ups and downs. (it's in the forum near the top - started by me) Spend today re-reading the rules of the Whole30 - what is and isn't allowed - pin it up in the kitchen or save it somewhere you can easily refer it to. Plan meals and do a shop today, do some meal prep tonight ready for tomorrow. Make some whole30 compliant snacks - veg sticks, egg muffins, cooked chicken etc. I think a key for you is identifying why you allowed cheats last time, was it because they were accessible? did you not have any whole30 options available? were you feeling fed up? Once you've identified, make a plan for what you're going to do when you think you're going to cheat. When I'm craving it's because I'm bored or need some comfort. So I have written down scenarios and what I'll do instead of eating. e.g. watch a show on netflix with a cup of tea, take a bath, go for a walk, knit! Good luck for tomorrow - you can do this. Looking forward to supporting you on the journey Sarah
ItsTyme
Thanks Sarah for the encouragement and advise I will write a list of things to do instead of eating. I have a notebook and have written some keys points that motivate me to slay the sugar & carb dragon. I did shop and cleaned out pantry. I can't find another Aug 1 forum , this is all new to be.
