Terri822
I know the recommendation is to eat fat/ protein pre workout which at 5/6 at I eat a bit of ground turkey or chicken mixed with mayo and if needed a pc of turkey bacon as well... Then post workout is about 8/8:30 am which is about breakfast time so is it ok to eat the full template meal with fat/veggies/protein instead of a low fat protein and starchy carb snack? I'm pretty starving after my workout and try to eat breakfast around 8 am then lunch noon , dinner 5 pm ect. Thanks!
jmcbn
The short answer is no. Fat slows down absorption/digestion and so prevents protein synthesis to the muscle, which in turn prevents recovery & repair. Have your postWO meal as soon as you are done training (I eat mine in the dressing room), get showered & dressed & then follow up with your breakfast about 30mins later. This shouldn't mess with your schedule for the rest of the day, and you'll find that your body really needs that extra food.
Terri822
Ok thanks! That's def doable. Is a whole egg too much fat for protein after? Or if I scramble 2/3 c egg whites and 2/3 c pumpkin in coconut oil?
jmcbn
Yeah, skip the yolk. Some people boil eggs & eat the yolk preWO & eat the white postWO....
