I'm a little slow getting signed up, but I just wanted to say "hi!"

My husband and I started Whole 30 on July 13. The day before is an annual day when he has some friends over for a party to watch the All Star Game, and junk food and wine abounds. We foisted off all the leftovers as people left, and jumped in the next morning!

I was going to start this program on my own, but DH wanted to try it too, and I'm so glad we're doing it together; it makes meal preparation so much easier.

So here we are on Day 19 already! We both feel great and haven't been tempted to stray. I love to cook and the food is so delicious. I depend on the Whole 30 and Well Fed cookbooks; they keep things interesting and I haven't encountered overwhelming food boredom yet. I've bought some wonderful spices that I'd never tried before and some of the meals have been terrific!

Our biggest indulgence is wine, so we will have to reassess that when we get to that point. I know that 19 days without alcohol has been really good for both of us.

Looking forward to spending more time here in the days ahead!

Must be this was kind of a boring post... :-)

Just to update: we are on Day 22 and still going strong. The only thing I miss is my wine... and I am wondering about restoring it after 30 days. We'll worry about that closer to the time.

My god-sends on this plan are: homemade mayo (love it); homemade ghee; lemons; and the Well Fed and Whole 30 recipe books. My very favorite go-to meal is ground meat sauteed in ghee with cauliflower rice and seasoned with ras el hanout, an amazing Moroccan spice blend. Served with cucumber salad seasoned with parsley and mint, it's a great combination of warm and cool flavors.

Wishing everyone a great and delicious day!

Stephanie
