Terri822
My husband is reintroducing peanut butter and black beans Thursday , then back to whole30 for two days then gf foods Sunday. If for example the peanut butter caused no reaction is it ok to keep that in the diet ? For example peanut butter with gluten free toast or on oatmeal? Administrators ladyshanny Posted August 2, 2016 Administrators Share Posted August 2, 2016 No, each item that is reintroduced whether with good or bad result, is left out until all the other reintroductions are done.
Moderators Tom Denham Posted August 2, 2016 Moderators Share Posted August 2, 2016 The reason off-plan foods have to stay out during reintroductions is because your husband might have a negative reaction to peanut butter or black beans if he keeps eating them. Many people can eat a little occasionally with no problems, but show symptoms if they eat something regularly. So continuing to eat peanut butter or black beans might take him over his threshold and then that would make it impossible to tell if he had a negative response to gf foods or to the other off-plan foods he was eating. Terri822
Ok thanks! & for myself if my digestive issues have not gotten better after 30 days should I keep going until they do and do the reintroduction?

That will give you the best information -- if you reintroduce while you're not feeling great, it'll be hard to know whether the food caused any issues, or if it's all just the same issues you've been having. If you want to post a few days of what you've been eating, including approximate portion sizes and specific vegetables, maybe someone will see something that you can tweak to help. There are some vegetables that are totally Whole30 compliant, but cause issues for some people.
Terri822
Sure, thanks! I drink 1-1.5 gallons of water a day, take probiotics/sauerkraut and 1 tbsp magnesium calm at night and I try to remember to take fish oil and calcium supplement as well.. Also I do a bit of collagen into my coffee or tea every day. 5-6 am I have about a palm size shredded chicken mixed with mayo for pre workout with coffee blended with 1-2 tsp each of coconut oil and ghee I workout ideally at 7 then try to just eat a bit of pumpkin and egg whites but often I'm starving and end up eating my meal (bad I know to not have fat after working out so I'm trying to be better at this!) so about 8:30 am I have 2 whole eggs with 1/2 palm size of turkey or chicken with diced tomato, onion, mushrooms and a ton of spinach scrambled with 1 tbsp coconut oil and a few bites of sweet potato & avocado 12-1 pm I have lunch which is always a huge salad topped with extra veggies like broccoli cooked in coconut oil, shredded carrots, tomatoes, onions, 1/3 avocado, a few olives & artichoke, 1 hard boiled egg and 1/2-1 palm size of chicken or tuna , sometimes mixed with a bit of mayo, and olive oil/ balsalmic vinegar as dressing .. Normally I'll add half a diced apple or a few strawberries and walnuts (took out walnuts lately to try to help digestion) I was having a handful of macadamia nuts or almonds or almond butter with some carrots as a afternoon snack on days I need it but cut that out lately Dinner 5-6pm is a palm size serving of ground beef or chicken with 3ish cups of stir fry veggies or cabbage/brussle sprouts or broccoli cooked in coconut oil or drizzled with sessame seed oil & coconut aminos.. Sometimes I'll add a small serving of diced red skin potatoes I try not to snack before bed and middle of the night but sometimes I'm starving and have to have a few bites of chicken salad or plantain chips I make or something similar .. I'm nursing 3 times a night still so it's hard for me to be up so much and if I'm hungry I usually can't go back to sleep. But I know this is horrible for my digestion so really trying to knock this out. I also take the NOW brand digestive enzyme with each brand and just stared to try betaline hcl with it to see if that helps but haven't noticed any difference. I've had poor digestion for years and then worse with my last pregnancy and even worse after I had to go on steroids and antibiotics a few months back for a horrible ear and sinus infection. I thought it was hopeful and interesting that the second week of starting whole30 I had horrible stomach cramps ect just inline with the time line thinking that was a good sign my intestines were healing... After a week the cramps went away but then had to go back on stool softners ect which I want to get off those eventually! Also I've always ate a ton of veggies and very healthy .. Then no grains/paleo since February but started the whole30 27 days ago... Thanks for the input!
