Grilled chicken salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions; handful of grapes; iced tea 3. Whole Foods Salad bar: sauteed squash and zucchini, white fish, salad with eggs, chicken, cauliflower, broccoli, and pine nuts; coconut water Only stumbling block was that I found myself hungry a couple hours after every meal. I took a bite off someone else's plate and suddenly remembered I couldn't have pancakes. I spit out the bite in the sink! We went right the movies today also. My mouth was literally salivating, I think from a combination of craving popcorn, coffee, and gelato. But it wasn't really that bad. I just thought it was interesting how my body reacted. In fact, I'm salivating right now just typing about it! 1. 3 eggs scramble with mushrooms, zucchini, squash, tomatoes, avocado, a plum on the side 2. Sauteed spinach, small all beef hotdog, hamburger patty, handful of almonds, raw mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, and avocado 3. Mixed salad greens with a sauteed mix of shrimp, tomatoes, zucchini, squash, mint, red pepper flakes, side of blueberries Water plain and with lemon to drink all day. Gentle yoga this morning. A wave of relief washed over me as I realized how freeing eating whole foods actually was. 1. 4 oz ground beef sauteed with sweet potatoes, mushrooms, tomatoes, zucchini, squash, and shallots; orange juice to drink 2. Mixed greens salad with grilled chicken, avocado, tomatoes, boiled egg; small amount of applesauce; small apple 3. Hamburger patty, avocado, tomatoes, serrano pepper; zucchini marinated in coconut vinegar, evoo, garlic, and cilantro; side of blueberries Coconut water, plain water, and a glass of iced tea to drink. Got up early to make myself a whole meal breakfast, which I think helped keep the hunger in check until lunchtime. Didn't sleep as well last night though so I'm dragging now at the end of the night. No workout for me today! 1. Lake perch sauteed in coconut oil; sauteed mix of purple potatoes, mushrooms, and tomatoes; Mixed salad greens with avocado and tomatoes; one egg fried in ghee; plum 2. Two chicken tenders sauteed in coconut oil; sauteed mix of squash, zucchini, and mushrooms; avocado; blueberries 3. Skillet sautee: in coconut oil - ground beef, sweet potatoes, squash, zucchini, mushrooms, and kale Plain water and coconut water to drink. No workout. 1stHalf Posted August 10, 2016 Author Share Posted August 10, 2016 Day 6: another great day! Feeling great. I really enjoyed bringing lunch to work today for the first time in ages. Noticing a couple of things that aren't feeling so great. One is sleep, so it was timely that today's W30 newsletter was all about sleep. The other it's consistent low right back and hip pain. I think I've got a pretty sizable knot that needs to be worked out. 1. 3 slices of leftover frittata, plum 2. Sauteed mix of shrimp, squash, zucchini, mushrooms, and onions; grapes; nuts 3. Took the newsletter's advice on sleep last night and went to bed an hour early to read then fell asleep at 10pm and got up at dawn (6am). I also made it a point to sleep on my back. I slept much better! 1. Chicken sauteed with onions; leftover parsnip puree; raw broccoli; side of grapes, blueberries, and salted nuts 2. Leftover shrimp, squash, zucchini, and onion sautee mix; avocado 3. Leftover chicken and onion sautee mix; steamed broccoli; banana Went swimming with the baby, walked about 2 miles. Started the Whole30 book last night too. It's great! 1. 2 filets of Lake perch, scrambled eggs, mixed greens with Asian dressing, blueberries 2. Kale bowl salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, avocados, and roasted sweet potatoes with tahini dressing 3. 3 baked chicken drumsticks, roasted fingerlie potatoes with shallots, steamed broccoli Plain water and coconut water to drink. I completed my first 5k in a couple years. 46:16 and placed 9th for age/gender. Super proud of myself! I also survived my first party (a baby shower) and we're heading out in a bit to a second party, where I know it will be a breeze because I already ate dinner. Winning! 1. Banana and nuts before race, leftover kale salad with ground beef after race 2. Salad with cucumber, tomatoes, and grilled chicken 3. Leftover chicken drumsticks; fingerlie potatoes; sauteed green peppers, red peppers, and onions; small side of applesauce Plain water and watered down coconut water to drink. 5k race. We did visit a friend and went to lunch afterward. I ordered a small orange juice spritzer and wasn't even able to finish it. The sugar from the fruit made me jittery! Passed it on to hubby. 1. 2 eggs cooked in olive oil; sauteed onions, red peppers, ave green peppers cooked in ghee; avocado 2. Pulled pork on a bed of arugala, 2 eggs cooked in olive oil, strawberries, blueberries 3. 4 baked pork ribs, steamed green beans, sauteed zucchini and squash Plain water, water with lemon juice, ave 4oz of orange juice spritzer to drink. 2.5 hours of house work as a workout. Most exciting part was listening to podcast episode 3 of The Living Experiment! 1. 2 slices of frittata Made with tomatoes, onions, and mushrooms 2. Hot bowl over baby spinach made with ground turkey, onions, green and red peppers, avocados, micro greens, and cilantro. 3. Baked lemon rosemary chicken with sweet potatoes and a mixed green salad with cucumber, tomatoes, and micro greens, tahini dressing. Plain water anf water with lemon to drink. Walked 3 miles. Had to change her sheets three times. :/ I think I might be fighting off what she has also, because I've been really tired yesterday and today. Three good things though: clean food, TLE podcasts, and a long walk. 1. Leftover sweet potatoes and half a chicken breast mixed with scrambled eggs, pea shoots on top 2. Mixed greens salad, micro greens, purple tomatoes, cucumbers, red peppers, tahini dressing; leftover hamburger meat; split a plum with the baby 3. Eggplant and pork dish with red onions, tomatoes, garlic, cooked in olive oil; mixed greens on the side with balsamic vinegar and olive oil dressing. Two fried eggs, sauteed mix veggies 2. Leftover pork and eggplant, leftover half a chicken breast, peach 3.
