Starting August 8

Cleaning out pantry, donating off limit foods, planning meals for the week, shopping and preparing! Goals are to help with chronic pain and Hashomotos. Any relief is welcome! I have celiac so I'm already used to being a special order in a restaurant. But giving up honey is a sacrifice for this Beekeeper!

Hey! I'm starting a Whole30 tomorrow, too. I hope to use this as a place to gripe and stay on track.

I am a 29 year old Food Programmer from Toronto. This is my second Whole30. I have majorly fallen off-track with my eating over the summer, and want to get back to a healthy place re: my relationship with food before school starts in the fall. I am most dreading breakfast, because all of the eggs. Even after my first round of W30, I am still a smoothie junkie.

My menu is planned for the week. I am heading out to do groceries this afternoon, and will do a bit of meal prep beforehand.

So don't eat eggs.  Google Whole30 no egg breakfast for suggestions, or here's one thread with several ideas.  You could do an entire Whole30 and never consume any eggs ever if you wanted to, there are plenty of other options.

I am going to start my first Whole30, August 8th.  I need to for health reasons, I have RA and I manage it through my diet.  Also would like to lose about 10#.  I've looked at Whole 30 for years but with my food intolerances I have felt I had enough restrictions.

Hi there. I'm starting this tomorrow.. which will be the 8th to most people probaby. I have fads of looking after myself and when I eat bread(fairly sure its the bread/ wheat), I have severe bloating. Medical issues have been elimated, so fairly certain its the diet. Also have ezcema ...  oh and other stuff too ..... I can go from one extreme to another. So many different plans out there, all saying that 'this is the way' to live your life. After reading so many different books, watching brillant documentaries from 'in defence of food' , to 'fed up' to 'that sugar film' and lots more inbetween, I really think this needs to be a starting point to get back to whats important with food. I really like Michael Pollan as an author and an approach to one of our most basic necessities of life, and  the whole30 is a good building block. So, lets see how i get on :) Great to join a community for encouragement and support.

I have started today as well, looking for group support as it is only me at home... My cupboards fill with non compliant stuff for the kids.... I have tried starting before a couple of times but have not been able to finish ... The sugar dragon always wins ... But not this time. I really need to change my relationship with chocolate and cakes and desserts mainly

I have also subscribed to a 10K in mid September and I need to be fit for this race... So another good cause to start and finish ...

Thanks for sharing that thread, Shannon! That Elvis burger you posted in there is definitely going to be on a future meal plan. Wowza. I can eat eggs and do enjoy them. But I found I relied on them way too much during my last W30 for breakfast. Anyway!

Day one down! I am nursing a serious headache right now. How is everyone else feeling? Not sure if it is sugar or gluten withdrawal, but ouch. My hunger levels have been good today. I am realizing that work is going to be a challenge, though. I work at a children's summer camp as a food programmer. AKA. organizing and serving children's lunches and running daily cooking workshops for them (usually 1000% non-compliant stuff). I was surrounded by mac and cheese, brown sugar scones, and popcorn all day. But I committed to this Whole30, and none of that food is worth giving up on my goals for. :)

Meals today:

M1: Spinach, onion, and tomato frittata cooked in ghee with 1/2 a small avocado and blueberries

M2: Chicken salad on a bed of mixed greens with some cherries

M3: Roasted spaghetti squash with tomato sauce, ground beef, and grilled asparagus. 1/2 a grilled peach. 1 cup of GT's kombucha.

I must say that I am looking forward to getting a bit more creative with this...
