Robin R.
My oesteopath who is treating me for chronic headaches, but is also aware of my allergies, recommend that I start the Whole 30. I bought It Starts with Food and the Whole30 (30 day guide...) and have now now read both from cover to cover! I love reading about nutrition and how it affects your health but I have to say this was the most interesting and comprehensive reading on this subject that I have ever done. I even, surprisingly, enjoyed the science-y stuff. I decided to start the program yesterday, after our 1 week vacation and the resulting indulgences. I was feeling bloated and tired, in spite of having the most relaxing vacation ever! I love to eat and I love to cook, so once I get in the swing of this, I am certain that I will be able to stick it out. I will do anything to be able to get off pain, sleep, and anxiety meds. The Whole30's simple approach made perfect sense to me! I am guessing the things that will be the hardest for me to give up will be my glass of wine in the evening and my milk with meals. I LOVE my milk! I had Poland Spring's sparkling water with a slice of lime in a wineglass instead. Very excited to join this community of support! Heather S
Im so excited for you! This is my second Whole 30- although the last one I did was over a year ago. I also started yesterday! You will be amazed at how great you feel. You'll sleep better, your skin will look better and you'll have more energy. You just have to give it a chance You're going to do great! Robin R.
Melissa, thank you so much for the warm welcome! I have done two full days and my first meal on Day 3. Still excited! How are you doing? Did you eat Whole 30ish between doing the Whole 30 a year ago and now? Did you have health issues that cleared up? I have a few issues I hope to clear up besides the headaches, anxiety and insomnia, I have some type of allergies and am always congested and drippy. Also have high cholesterol. Very much looking forward to having that checked after I am done. Thank you again, so much.

I'd bet good money you'll see improvement in that once the dairy is out of your system....! I LOVED milk too, and haven't had a glass in 18mths for that very reason. Best of luck to you
Robin R.
Thank you! Thank is exactly what I am hoping for. I have eliminated other foods from my diet based on a blood test that said I had sensitivities to them. Dairy did not come up so I happily kept drinking my milk. I will give up my beloved milk forever if I have to!! I am rather enjoying my coconut milk ice cubes in my morning coffee. I also have been sprinkling cinnamon on top. The craving for milk is starting a bit today on Day 3, but I will NOT cave in!
jmcbn
Back then, on day 4, I'd have sold my soul to the Devil for a glass of the cold white stuff - I got over it though, and you will too......
Robin R.
Thanks for the encouragement! It is going to be hard because the rest of my family sits at the table and drinks their "cold white stuff". I pour Poland Springs sparkling water into my wine glass along with a wedge of lime, and try to feel special. I am afraid that during the KILL ALL THINGS phase I may try to rip it out of their hands. I knew that my milk and wine would be the hardest to give up, but I only had wine a few times a week, and so far that is not the issue. Milk was daily for me.
