Rebeccale
After reading both It Starts with Food and Whole 30, researching and prepping, I finally started my first Whole 30 journey. I am extremely motivated to do this health reset. I have about 30 lbs to lose and some health issues (acne, hot flashes, major fatigue------got to love menopause---- hot flashes and acne....lol) that I feel will improve with these dietary changes. As a nurse, I believe that food IS medicine! Look like a great online community! Looking forward to the Whole 30 Journey!
SarahUlm
Hello! I also started on August 8th! How are you feeling? I am a total Diet Coke addict! So that for me has been the hardest part! Hope you are doing well! - Sarah
Producelover52
Hello! I too began my very first round of Whole 30 on the August 8th. Today marks Day 5! How are you feeling and handling the food changes? I haven't experienced much in the way of detox symptoms but have a had moments of wanting a soda or some ice cream. I am a sugar maniac! =) I decided to start Whole 30 for health reasons too. I wanted to begin an elimination diet with a long reintroduction phase to help put my Hasimoto's Thyroiditis in remission. I wish you much success! Keep us posted and I hope to hear from more of us doing this with the same start date. -Jenn
Rebeccale
So, today is Whole 30 day 11 for me! It's been a bumpy ride as I developed hives on day 5 and started steroid treatment for them on day 8. I'm sure the steroids will set me back about 10 days, but I've chosen to stick to the Whole 30 Journey. I figured that adding on additional time at the end would be easier that starting over from the beginning. I'm really trying to focus on meal templates this week ( getting enough fats especially). Last week, my focus was mainly on groceries and meal prep. SarahUlm, I see where you decided to start over. Congrats on your perseverance! I dropped the Diet Coke about 6 months ago. It was difficult, but I found that seltzer water and making my self "fancy little drinks" (water in a goblet with lime, lemon , cucumber slice) were good tools for me as I gave it up. I found the first week to be hard. Producelover52, I hope your Whole 30 is going well! I am very interested in seeing how the Whole 30 can help your Hashimoto's. I have heard of others having such good success using a whole 30 diet as a therapy for their autoimmune diseases. As far as any cravings, they haven't been to bad, although I would have given any thing for a glass of wine last night.
