marijapants
So I have read all about the program, minus the books, and I want to start the program tomorrow. My issue right now is that I feel like my friends and family will try to talk me out of doing this whole30 thing. Family is quite critical in general, especially when it comes to any kind of restrictions with food, I did a fairly extreme diet and training thing two years ago which lasted 3 months and I never heard the end from them. My friends will probably be sceptical about it as well. Anyone feel the same/holding back telling people in their close circle?
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted August 12, 2016 Moderators Share Posted August 12, 2016 You don't have to tell anyone anything, but if you choose to talk about it, maybe stress that it's a 30 day elimination diet that is going to help you narrow down any foods that may be causing any health issues you have, or to find out if you can feel even better than you already do if you don't have any known health problems. Be sure that when they see you eat, that they see you are eating big plates full of vegetables with reasonable portions of protein and fat as outlined in the meal template. That should help allay fears that you're being too restrictive or that you're in danger of starving yourself. Also try to remember that they are probably just concerned for your well being. If you or other people they know have ever dealt with eating disorders of any kind, they may be hypersensitive. I'm sure that's annoying, but it's really not a bad thing that you have people around you who care about you and want you to be healthy and happy.
