ROUND 2-Started 8/15

Ok- Today is Day 2 of my second round. I did very well on round 1, but this time I am on my own. I had a couple of buddies who were Whole30-ing with me, but alas! They do not want another round! So here I am, hoping for some accountability partners. Yesterday went well, as Day One always does. Today- so far, so good.  I know I can do this! My hardest area is not weighing every day. Yes, I am one of those ScaleAddictors! I break out in a sweat if I don't weigh. Seriously.....

Advice?

Hope to hear from you other Whole30 fans!

Fellow scale addict here, and on day 2 as well!  This is my 5th time around (twice successful), and the scale is seriously my biggest enemy!  I have the menu down, and I've already apologized to my family for days 4-9 (my worst days), and the last few days (when I want to punch random people out of boredom), so I'm on my way ;)

I have a teenage son who is trying to gain weight for basketball season so we keep the scale in the kitchen...i need to tell him to bring it to his room because I swear it's talking to me. This time around I didn't weigh my myself (or measure), instead tried on an old favorite dress that hasn't fit me for a couple years - using that as a measurement tool on day 31!

Hi, DebV- I am so happy to find someone as addicted as I to the scale. This is the worst part (maybe not!) of this way if eating!  Why were only two rounds successful? Just curious...  I too will try on clothes that do not fit. Maybe some old jeans that I just couldn't get rid of???

I can TOTALLY relate! If I am going to fail, it is going to be chips and dip. Corn tortilla are AWESOME! Enough about the downside... I like knowing that I am down one dress size from my first Whole30 and am working to get down one more! My son is getting married in May and I have to be in shape.  So starting the gym next week- too tired these days. Our area just flooded last weekend and I decided to start Whole30! Could not go to the grocery store until Monday... couldn't get out of my subdivision until then. However my family was blessed. I have friends and neighbors who are having to "rebuild" the insides of their homes!  So stress and getting rid of sugar and stress have me down. But come Monday.... !!!

Ok so first, day 4 and predictably, I'm annoyed at everything in my path. Brain fog is the worst...and it's rainy and gross out.  BUT, breakfast was awesome (3 eggs, spinach, pico de gallo and avocado), so there's that - trying to stay positive.

More importantly, I'm so sorry for what you're going through! Not sure if you live in LA, but regardless, a stressful tough time I'm sure - AND to be detoxing at the same time...wow.  Positive thoughts and prayers to everyone in your community!!

Make yourself a pot of something good...whole30 compliant of course :)  I have a few recipes that I make during my tough days.  Tonight is sweet potato, beef chili.  Food for the soul!  Hang in there!

WHOLE30 Round 3

This is round three for me.

Round one- YAY- Stayed on even while on vacation. Ate well- ate a lot! Lost 16 pounds!!! (Sorry, Melissa- at that time it was ALL ABOUT THE WEIGHT!!!)

Round two- flubbed on Day 12 so I started over. Even the flub was not my fault. After asking a friend what we were having for dinner, her reply- Grilled veggies and Grilled chicken. I thought they were delish but tasted.... different. Like sugared teriyaki sauce different. She said yes, so I started over the next day. So 42 days later, only a FOUR POUND LOSS!!!! Can you say DEPRESSION?????

So Round Three- today is day 5 of my third round. I find that I am making "better" choices, doing better meal planning, and I feel WONDERFUL most days!!! No more of those "kill everything" on day 4 feelings- just wonderful most days!!! So that is a HUGE plus!

I am afraid it is all about weight loss for me. However I have gotten into my small jeans and they are not tight AT ALL. I am working out a bit- I need to improve in this area. However teaching and taking care of an infirm mom some days (not everyday) puts a kink in my schedule. Hard to get on track when I am constantly derailed. But I can do it if I put my mind to it!!!

If you are having any questions about Whole30, my answer is NIKE- Just Do It!!! Not hard- plan, plan, PLAN! You feel great (after the first round).
