Day 3 (I NEED A MILKSHAKE)

I started today out strong. I woke up less hungry this morning- I think because I did a short weight workout instead of a distance run yesterday. I ate more of my frittata and it worked! I made it through the morning without needing a snack. I restrained myself from the grilled cheese I cooked for the boys... That was difficult. I ate leftovers for lunch that were still delicious. I tried to eat a little more today, and again it kept me fuller longer, but around four or five o'clock I started picturing double cheeseburgers, french fries, and a strawberry milkshake from steak and shake. I had to cook when I got home so we could eat dinner, but I was hungry THEN. I snacked on almonds and an orange. I feel good about restraining. And the food is exciting and new. I am getting away from my usual foods and trying new ones. It's fantastic. Then why do I want to run to the nearest fast food restaurant and go ham????? I keep telling myself it will be worth it once I get through the beginning. I am not good at sticking to things that make me uncomfortable. This is more than eating healthy and weight loss for me. This is me showing myself that I CAN do what I set my mind to and I am CAPABLE of hard work. Here's to a new day!!

It WILL get better as the days go on. In the meantime ensure you are including enough fat in your meals - this will really help with the cravings.

Also, try distraction techniques to get through them if they do strike - have a glass of water, make some herbal tea, run a bath, 'file' your emails, rearrange your filing system in the office, get out & get some fresh air....

I hear you katm16. I really wanted cheese today (my Day 3 also). I successfully refrained as well. Good for you, Keep up the good work.

Trying new foods can be awesome. I've have some hits (the stuffed peppers were awesome) and some misses (I found I didn't care for leftover frittata). I'll have to try the frittata again with some different ingredients and try it fresh next time. I think the canned, diced tomatos ruined it for me.

Tomatoes always ruin eggs for me. Far too watery. And canned on top of that? No thanks. But otherwise keep up the good work!
