Whole30ally
Our family is invited out for a lunch to someone's house. How do I accept but stay on my whole30? Do I offer to bring my own food? I don't want to seem like a weirdo eating other foods at the table.
Karen_Suep
Eat before you go. Ask about the menu. Explain that you're doing a whole30 (I basically said I was doing an elimination diet to see what foods affected me and my breastfed son) and that you don't necessarily expect anything special prepared for you. Drink water. Find something compliant at the table. You can always offer to bring your own food. We have a standing framily dinner with friends once a month and lunches with them twice a month. I've taken my own food to be on the safe side. I have also eaten a substantial meal beforehand. Dinner was late enough in my w30 that i didn't feel horrible if I didn't eat when I normally do (I was only delayed by like an hour or so). It's doable.
