barty90
Hi all, I reintroduced gluten in the form of half a sesame seed bagel yesterday, I experienced bloating for sure, but it wasn't unmanageable and nothing else happened. I figured since yesterday I just happened to not ingest any more gluten I would have a whole wheat wrap for lunch today and see how that went. It did not go well. Within the hour I feel dizzy, foggy, headache, and a sudden urge to go to the bathroom where I was a little constipated once I got there. Now, since I didn't have this reaction yesterday, should I be worried I accidentally ingested something else in that wrap that I haven't reintroduced yet (such as soy)? Or can this be attributed to the whole wheat wrap, and maybe I'm more sensitive to whole wheat rather than white breads? Or, could this just be poor timing and my body was not feeling well from something other than what I just ate.. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Administrators ladyshanny Posted September 6, 2016 Administrators Share Posted September 6, 2016 Many times it's quantity in limited time that can give you issues. So maybe one serving of a gluten item would be manageable but anything beyond that gets dicey. You may also want to test white flour and whole wheat flour separately as whole wheat will still contain the bran which could be troublesome for you. You could definitely retest at a later date, after you're feeling fine again.
barty90
Thank you for the insight! Good to know there can be a different intolerance between white and whole grain products. I will test them separately after two days back on the Whole30 and hope for the best!
Administrators ladyshanny Posted September 6, 2016 Administrators Share Posted September 6, 2016 @barty90 - if you are not feeling right as rain after 2 days, consider allowing your gut to heal longer. Do the reintros only when you are feeling your best as otherwise the "data" can be skewed.
