pachickadee
I am closing in on week 3 of my first Whole30 and am feeling a little deprived. I know this will pass and that overall my health is really much better. I guess I just need to hear from others who have reached this point and how to overcome this. I had 2 Hershey kisses today and feel like giving in. Please help!! Thanks.
natashamadeline
Hate to break it to you but you already gave in. The two Hershey's kisses that you had means you have to start over to consider it a whole30. Don't sweat it though, we all make mistakes and have to start over at some point! Take it as an opportunity to prolong your health and while you're setting up for your next whole30, look up some exciting sites and blogs to keep it interesting like "nomnompaleo"
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted September 6, 2016 Moderators Share Posted September 6, 2016 There are plenty of amazingly tasty foods that you can have on Whole30, and you can have as much of those foods as you need to feel full at each meal. You really don't have any reason to feel deprived. If you need help finding recipes, just ask here in the forum. The Well Fed cookbooks and website are my go-tos when I want something new and different to change up my meals. It can be helpful to stop thinking in terms of things you can't have and focus on the things you can have. It can also be good to reframe statements like "I can't have any cookies" to something like, "I am currently choosing not to have cookies, so that I can see how I feel without them." It can feel empowering to embrace that it is a choice you are making, not something you're being forced to do. You could totally choose to have cookies today if you wanted them, but if you do, you're choosing not to do a Whole30. It's your choice, either way, and you are free to make whichever choice you want, keeping in mind that all choices have consequences. Unfortunately, because you chose to have Hershey kisses, you will have to extend your 30 days before doing reintroductions. You need to have 30 days completely on plan, leaving out all non-compliant foods, to really have accurate reintroductions. Maybe you decide to say you're on day one again, to get a Whole30 done completely right. Maybe you just add days onto the end of this 30, so if you are currently on day 15, you'd add 15 days and be doing a Whole45. Either way works, do whichever feels right to you and will help you get back on track and stay on track.
