Exercise and recovery

Since my Whole30 ended a couple of weeks ago, I've been much better about exercising - I finally have the energy and I actually look forward to doing it. (Hell must've frozen over)

My question is - how much is too much and how long should I recover in between? I usually just do a 30 minute DVD or I take a walk or go for a jog (about 1.5 miles each day). I try to do one of these options everyday to stay consistent.

Is that too much?

You could probably do those things everyday until you are 100+ and be perfectly fine. Everyone is different and you just have to be honest with how you feel. When you start doing more intense activities or strength training is when you need to worry about significant rest.

What you are doing sounds good.

Recovery is not just how much you exercise. It includes how you take care of your body with sleep, eating, foam rolling-yoga-massage-stretching, etc. Things like walking can be a form of active recovery, and even light jogging.
