Nicolettasmom
Not sure if this was a good idea.... I haven't been on the pill in years but asked my doctor to prescribe it so that I could move my period around in October (we are heading to Mexico for our 10 year anniversary....and of course I'm scheduled to have it all that week!). I'm sooo queasy and super hungry. Not sure if it's my body adjusting to the Whole 30 or if it has to do with the pill being thrown into the mix. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! (this is day 4 for me, and my second Whole 30 ever) Link to comment
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted September 10, 2016 Moderators Share Posted September 10, 2016 I don't have an answer for why exactly this is happening, but if you're hungry, definitely eat. Many people are super hungry in the first week of Whole30. If you want feedback on whether your meals are composed correctly, tell us what you've been eating for a day or two with approximate portion sizes. In general, each of your meals should have 1-2 palm-sized portions of protein (length, width, and height of your palm), 1-2 thumb-sized portions of fat (or a heaping handful or two of olives or coconut flakes, or half to a whole avocado, or a quarter to a half of a can of coconut milk, or a small closed handful of nuts or seeds), and 1-3 cups of vegetables. Occasionally have some fruit if you want to, always with a meal, up to two fist-sized servings a day. Drink lots of water, aiming for 1/2 oz per pound of body weight (so a 120-lb person needs at least 60 oz). Salt your food to taste. If you're hungry between meals, have a mini meal of protein, fat, and vegetables, or at least two of the three. Link to comment
Churlygirl
I'm going to guess that your symptoms are just Whole30 related. If I were you, I'd stay on the pill and stay on the Whole30. Symptoms of being tired, cranky, hungry and queasy can be profound, but will pass if you are following the prescribed meal formulas. I had all of those, plus a nasty 3 day headache! I recently started back on the pill, and i had no side effects. It seems to be an even better product today than a few years ago regarding side effects. I hope you start feeling better.
