FlexiPack
Hello all, I've just started Whole30, I'm trying to find out if the ingredients in my prescription medication are compliant. It's called Seroxat (generic name is Paroxetine), it's an antidepressant. I've been able to find out bits of information regarding the ingredients by searching on here and the web but I'm still not sure about some of the ingredients. Tablet Core: Dibasic Calcium Phosphate Dihyrdrate (E341) Magnesium Stearate (E470b) Sodium Starch Glycolate (Type A) Tablet Coating: Hypromellose (E464) Titanium Dioxide (E171) Macrogol 400 (aka Polyethylene Glycol) Polysorbate 80 (E433) Indigo Carmine (E132) Out of those, I believe Magnesium Stearate, Titanium Dioxide, Hypromellose and Polysorbate 80 are ok (although best avoided if possible). I'm not sure about the others. The ones that stand out as possibly not compliant are Macrogol (as it's a glycol), Sodium Starch Glycolate (is the glycolate sugar related?) . I can't stop taking my medication but I could see if there is an alternative if one or more of these ingredients are not permissible. Moderators Tom Denham Posted September 9, 2016 Moderators Share Posted September 9, 2016 The Whole30 dictates what you can eat, not the ingredients in prescription meds. You can always take prescriptions.
