Megant5123
I'm a Whole30 veteran and have (somewhat) successfully been able to apply the principles to my regular eating habits for the past 3 years or so. I recently started a reset during the #septemberwhole30 and have hit a speedbump I have never encountered before: the thought of sweet potatoes is making me nasueous. I can't eat them any more. Done over it. However, I know I need that carb boost, specifically in the morning, and I'm not sure what to replace them with, and I'm thinking that squash will have a similar effect. Yup, stomach is not warming to that idea either. I eat white potatoes occasionally but would prefer to limit that intake. Any suggestions?
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted September 12, 2016 Moderators Share Posted September 12, 2016 Any root vegetables -- carrots, beets, turnips, rutabaga, parsnips. Any winter squashes like butternut, acorn, or kabocha squash. Spaghetti squash isn't as carry, but us slightly carbier than like zucchini, it might be enough to help. There's nothing wrong with having regular potatoes. Your body might also just be saying it doesn't need the carbs in the morning-- many people have them post-workout for recovery or in their final meal of the day because it helps them sleep. If you're just not wanting carbs in the morning right now, but are still able to eat a full meal with other foods, go with it and see what happens.
