Robin R.
After re-reading everything I can on re-introductions in the book and on the forum, and asking many questions, I have finally decided to start with my first food intro. I had wine first a week ago as a celebration to having completed my first Whole30. Last weekend we went away for our 28th wedding anniversary so I stayed W30 compliant the entire time (relaxing the rules only on the added sugarin the bacon, and but my husband and I shared a bottle of champagne. On Sunday when we got home I still had a half a bottle of Sauvingnon Blanc calling to me so I finished that off with dinner. No regrets, all went well! I was feeling a bit melancholy yesterday but it could have been lack of sleep. I woke at 3 am and could not get back to sleep. Now that I think about it, I am wondering if that was a side-effect of the alcohol. Hmm.. (We usually have wine in the house, but when my husband asked if I wanted a bottle of wine when grocery shopping on Sunday, I said no. This is a big deal for me.) I have decided to start with rice as the first food item I will be introducing because I want to break down the non-gluten grains so that they have their own day. Following the guidelines to introduce food items at each meal on the Re-intro day, I am having Rice Chex (dry or with coconut milk) for breakfast , lime cilantro rice at Chipotles for lunch and brown rice pasta for dinner. Depending on how I feel I plan to have at least two completely compliant meals for the next two days, then start with another food on Saturday. I am truly missing corn on the cob, so that will be next. I just need to figure out how to introduce it at breakfast and lunch! It has taken me awhile to figure out the rules of reintroduction, and feel comfortable enough taking this first step, but I think I may FINALLY have a game plan that will work for me. I want to live mostly W30ish with relaxed rules, but be able to know what I can eat when dining out/celebrations/holidays/special treats come along. Reading how other people have been eating after their reintroductions helped allay those last doubts that I had. I had a fear that by reintroducing even one item, all of the benefits of my hard work over the past 5 weeks would be completely ruined! I truly appreciate all of the wisdom and advice along the way. Fingers crossed!!
Robin R.
I had Rice Chex with nectarines and coconut milk. The coconut milk in the cereal was suprisingly good!! Here we go.
Robin R.
On Wednesday I started my food intros by reintroducing rice into my diet. I had Rice Chex with Meal 1, Chipotle’s cilantro lime brown rice at Meal 2 and brown rice pasta with Meal 3. I did not sleep well that night but that can be attributed more to my husband’s restlessness disturbing my sleep patterns. Therefore without good quality sleep, I was very fuzzy all day on Thursday. However, it appears that having rice on occasion will not disrupt me either physically or psychologically! I have been following the W30 meal template for the past two days. Onward Ho! Next up: corn.
