kellybelly
A member of one of the groups I'm in made this pumpkin custard and I'd like to know if this is a swypo or ok as a side to compliant meal? http://www.louisianabrideblog.com/2015/07/breakfast-pumpkin-custard.html?m=
Pamela Overly
Hi Kelly! I made this recipe during my first Whole30 and was thankful that I found another option for a breakfast meal. Eggs can get old for me. Before the Whole30 I was used to eating lots of grains (oatmeal, quinoa, etc.) for breakfast. Nothing too sweet, I just like having a warm bowl of something that wasn't eggs. This recipe filled that gap for me. It isn't very sweet, so I didn't look at it as a "treat" or as a "dessert". I was just another option for a breakfast meal. As long as you aren't using it to substitute as one of those SWYPO's you should be fine. Hope that helps!
purplepadres
This dish doesn't fit the template (fat/veg/protein). It's really lacking in protein, and is probably borderline SWYPO.
jmcbn
As a side dish along side some protein & veg, yes. As a stand alone dish, no - it's not even close to template. 4 eggs for 6 servings? That's seriously low on protein.
