day 30.Struggling with the mental/emotional sugar dragon

I feel really good about completing day 30 ( as of today) but still struggle with the emotional pull of sugar.   Lately I have had a more difficult time in NOT being pulled back into emotional eating.  How long does it normally take to change this trigger?

Also any advise on easy portable meals, I am traveling tomorrow and there will be quite a bit of exercise; kayaking, biking etc and I really really need to stay away from Lara bars

thanks

If you were eating dates on a daily basis (like you'd reported in your thread about feeling dizzy) and relying on larabars throughout your 30days then I'm afraid you'll have been feeding that sugar dragon rather than starving it - hence the continued emotional pull of sugar.

Starving the dragon is the only way.

For your trip I'd suggest portable protein & fat options to keep you on the straight & narrow - tinned fish, compliant jerky, olives, avocados, hard boiled eggs etc would be the way to go....

First off, I agree with what jmcbn said.

Second: have environmental factors changed towards the end of your challenge?  Is there something causing stress, anxiety (boredom), etc.?  Maybe just knowing that you've completed your goal & are able to have x, y & z finally has resurfaced old habits?

Being aware of your cues, self-talk & behaviors is an incredible tool.  Try to keep it (your awareness) positive!

Anyways, best of luck and hope you enjoy your trip (:  also big congrats!
