I started a second Whole 30 Wednesday although I ended up eating some butter by mistake instead of ghee so I suppose my real start is today, 9/23.  Anyway I really have no specific end day, just longer that 30 days.  I will start posting my meals today in this forum instead of post whole 30.  I am working on reducing even further the joint and muscle pain, even though is way better that before the first time in November.  I also really need to improve sleep and hunger in the nighttime and would love to see some reduction in the amount of meds I need to take for RLS.  I would also love, of course to lose some more weight and get down to about a size 6-8.  I already lost 20 pounds since the first time around.  Another 10 would be great but not really necessary, just losing the belly fat would be great. Meals for today are flax, fruit, coco milk and carrots for breakfast, 2 eggs, spinach, potatoes, 1/2 avocado, catsup, cauliflower for lunch, chicken salad, grapes, with ranch dressing and more cauliflower.  I will probably have to have a 1/2 banana with almond butter at some point as I transition to no snacking.

Slept well last night, decided not take my phone in the room so I couldn't tell what time it was or be tempted to read or check news on line in the night.  It really helped as I of course knew it would.  It was hard though, really kind of an addiction.  I did get up once and eat a little bit of potato as I am not really able to make it through the night without some stomach burning yet. Also, had an extra baclofen at 1 am to keep me asleep (yesterday I did feel more tired after the extra baclofen).  Didn't eat the 1/2 banana, just a little potato.  My meal plan for today is fruit, flax, cocomilk, almond butter, carrots for breakfast, 3 eggs, zukes, peppers, mushrooms, snow peas and sausage for lunch.  chicken salad for dinner with grapes and tahini-lime dressing (dressed up ranch that I made yesterday).  I will also try to finish the cauliflower and make some squash soup to eat with dinner.

Meals for today Breakfast: 1/2 banana, 4 strawberrys and a few blueberries, coconut milk, flax, almond butter, a small piece of chicken, raw carrots, green tea and decaf coffee with nutpods, Lunch: 3 eggs in coconut oil with zukes, peppers, mushrooms, avocado, and potatoes, Dinner: butternut squash soup with veggies and coconut cream, chicken salad with lime-tahini dressing and grapes.  Slept great last night with no phone, woke up 3 times and took an extra baclofen at 3:30 am, some RLS in my arms before bed and some RLS in legs after bed but still went to sleep pretty well.  Lots of energy today after a somewhat slow start, enough to make soup and take a big walk up the hill. Recovered well from Red Bluff hike yesterday.

Got a load of firewood today.  Meals, breakfast and lunch same as yesterday except no avocado at lunch.  My stomach is feeling a little burny today, especially after breakfast.  I need to take some ginger but it is candied, perhaps ginger tea will work.  Dinner was curried coconut shrimp with snow peas, peppers and mushrooms.  I added some coconut amino teriyaki sauce and sliced almonds, very delicious but stomach is not doing well.  I may need some more fat or just use plain coconut amino without the chiles in the teriyaki.  I slept pretty well last night  but had to get up and have a little egg and potato so my stomach would be quiet.  Not sure what to do now about the burning.  My naturopath had suggested a low residue diet earlier this year but it is so far from Whole 30.   I had this same problem on the last Whole 30 and it went away as soon as I added dairy back in.  Perhaps some probiotic tablets to replace the yogurt.  No RLS last night, regular dose of meds.

Went to Coeur d'Alene to look at cars and dr. appt for DH.  None of them look very good and and they are all really expensive.  Meals today, Breakfast: 2 eggs scrambles with snow peas, fruit, flax and coco milk.  Lunch, kind of a nibble meal with chicken slices, carrots, grapes and 1/2 lara bar.  Dinner: left over curried coconut shrimp and a kombucha.  A bit of a stomach ache after eating while driving and all the car lots,  I did get a walk in around a little lake at the drs office. Not much fat in todays meals, might have some nuts.  I need to make some roasted sweet and white potatoes and some chicken meatballs.

Got up at night at 3 after sleeping 6 hours! and my stomach was burning terribly, took a baclofen, papaya enzyme, some ginger and that didn't help very much so took a prilosec and slept on a wedge.  Started burping kind of like the last Whole 30 and finally went to sleep for a while but feeling groggy this morning, probably the baclofen and too little sleep.  My stomach is better but skipping the caffeine of my usual green tea and going decaf.  Breakfast will be some fruit, flax and cocomilk, don't know if I can stomach any more.  Will try to get down an egg and cook up some veggies, zukes?  Possible going to go a little lower residue and eat more cooked and less raw veggies.  I really ate a lot of carrots on the way home yesterday.  That could be part of it but my stomach has been burning some for the last couple days.

Ended up cooking potatoes this morning and eating a couple of purple and white potatoes.  It really helped my stomach, plus the prilosec of course. Lunch was more potatoes, sweet and purple, 3 slices of bacon, some stir fried zukes, mushrooms and peppers and a little wholly guacamole and an egg.  Dinner was chicken meatballs (yum), salad with grapes and lime-tahini dressing ( I really like my concoction) .  I was feeling like I was losing weight too fast so I did weigh myself and discovered I had lost 3 pounds in 5 days.  No wonder I was feeling a little hollow.  Hence, the bacon and meatballs, that should slow it down, feeling very full after dinner, like I may never eat again. Took a walk around the loop today, and felt not too tired despite the bad night.  Also, unloaded wood, and made a lot of phone calls and put the trailer away.

Slept almost all night with one wakeup in the middle of the night and awake at 5:30!  That is a better nights sleep than I have had in years, probably 7+ hours.  I did have to take a prilosec yesterday but my stomach was amazing last night.  Didn't eat at all after dinner, except one chicken meatball before bed.  I guess the increase in meat and fat did something, it couldnt be just the prilosec because i have tried that before with little results, particularly with the RLS.  I didn't even have the normal throbbing of my legs last night.  Just NO sign that I had restless leg.  I will try now to start reducing the mirapex and see if I can get away with it.  My stomach however does look a little big just like they say at day 8-9.  I am not really sure what my real start date is as I slipped up the second day with the pesto, but everything else,  the sugar, the grains, the alcohol and the legumes was gone on Wednesday.

Slept well last night.  Fell asleep readily and didn't wake up until 1:30 and then a while of restlessness and a baclofen and an egg.  Went back to sleep and slept until after 6, kind of a record lately.  I did have a few moments of reflux pain and a few burps but went back to sleep.  A little groggy this morning and a little bit of burning, we will see how my fruit breakfast works.  I had to have a meatball and a little potato before bed.  I just couldnt eat enough at dinner, I was really stuffed by the salad.  Starting to have a glass or two of lime water in the morning or if I wake up at night.  It makes it taste so much better and is supposedly good for me.  I will try a day without prilosec today and see how I do.  Not sure what we will do today, lots of rain in a thunderstorm last night so it is too wet for the woods or maybe we can go up Noisy Creek later after the dump.

Slept 6 hours straight last night!  I did wake up a couple times and turn over but right back to sleep.  Then after looking at the time, I went back to sleep until almost 6 which makes 7 1/2 hours which is more than I have slept in ages.  No large amount of exercise yesterday, just a walk and yoga at home but it seemed to be just right  I had no restless leg last night with my regular meds and didn't eat from dinner to now, breakfast time, which a first for quite a while. My stomach feels empty but not much burning.  No prilosec yesterday.  I just took it for two days.

Slept 5 1/2 hours solid.  Awake at 3:30 and a little difficulty getting back to sleep, ate 6 grapes, then was able to sleep until 6 when it got light.  No extra meds, no RLS, no indigestion, did take a piece of ginger and two papaya tabs at bedtime because I was feeling a little bloated after stuffing myself all day.  I wonder if the meditation is helping.

Meals yesterday: breakfast: flax, coconut milk, a little fruit and a little almond butter, tried to eat an egg but too full, Lunch: left over stir fries with chicken, Dinner: chicken salad with meatballs, avocado, egg, peppers, carrots, lettuce and lime-tahini dressing,  I do like that stuff, maybe make it a little thinner with more coco milk next time.

I am feeling stuffed all the time now, no snacking between meals but I certainly don't feel any thinner, if anything I have gained weight, still hoping for the miracle of the last Whole 30.  But luckily, not constipated and still have plenty of energy and much less joint and muscle pain.

Slept well last night but still haven't felt at all like I did last time so I assume I haven't lost any weight or belly fat, quite a disappointment after the lost of 20 pounds last time.  I also have a lot of back pain right now after some gardening a couple days ago, it is just not going away and I feel really stiff so no NSVs either except better sleep.  It is hard to keep going if it doesnt make  me feel better or lose belly fat.  I hate to think I need to lose the morning fruit, that is helping to keep me going, not facing eggs first thing in the morning.  I did quit the spoonful of almond butter in the morning and will up my veggies if I can manage it.

Meals yesterday:

Breakfast: 2 tbsps of flax, 1/2 cup coconut milk, 1/4 banana, 3 strawberries and a few blueberries, HB egg, cup of snow peas

Lunch: 3 eggs, coconut oil, 1/2 pepper, 1/2 zuke, 2 mushrooms, 1/2 avocado, small potato, unsweetened catsup

Dinner: salmon with lime, EVO, coconut aminos, steamed cauliflower with sunshine sauce, grilled pepper and zuke, small potato

Okay, maybe I will quit the fruit and go to higher protein meals in the morning and see if I get any results.  But I am just not hungry in a way I have never been not hungry.  Occasionally my stomach will give me some hunger pangs but eating just seems to pile the food in my stomach and not digest.  I got in a small walk today before giving a fiddle lesson and practiced a little afterward but didn't do much else. Meals today:

Breakfast: two eggs in coconut oil, 2 tbsps of flax, 1/2 cup coconut milk, 1/2 banana, 4 strawberries and a few blueberries, a couple of florets of cooked cauliflower, green tea and coffee with nutpods.

Lunch: turkey slice, 1/ 2 sweet potato, steamed cauliflower with sun sauce

Dinner: large chicken salad with avocado, lettuce, sunflower seeds, grapes, peppers, carrots  with lime-tahini dressing and a 1/4 sweet potato, kombucha

Slept so-so last night but that was because I was starting to cut down on the Mirapex because the restless leg problems seem to be gone.  Although my sleep was interrupted, my legs were completely calm with 1 and 1/2 mirapex.  I only took the 1/2 about 2 am and was woken up only by hunger at about 3 am, took a ginger piece about 5 and then didn't sleep any more but stomach calmed down.  I did go back on l-tyrosine to try to help with the sleep issues from cutting the mirapex.  The only other time I could cut back on the mirapex was during my last Whole 30 and that was only for a short time and then I had to go back to two.  I am not sure why it calms down so much on Whole 30, could be the alcohol or the decaf green tea I have been drinking or so many other changes, upping the meat and improving my ferritin maybe.  I will have to get that tested in November.

Meals yesterday:

Breakfast: fruit, flax, snow peas, coconut milk, tea and decaf coffee

Lunch: 3 eggs, zukes, mushrooms, peppers, potatoes, 1/2 avocado fried in coconut oil

Dinner: stir fried zukes, mushrooms, onions, peppers and chicken breast in lots of olive oil and coconut aminos

Played dance and had snack on the way home of potatoes.  Took an hour long walk around Riverfront Park before dinner and dance.  Four hours of driving and my SI joint was hurting. Did yoga and meditation at home before driving to the city.
