ItsTime
Day 1 BREAKFAST 2 eggs sweet potato hash 2 slices nitrate free bacon *got sick coffee(after breakfast) LUNCH leftover whole30 compliant pork ramen with zoodles strawberries DINNER whole30 chili leftover ribeye(2oz) pear apple coffee This is my 3rd Whole30. March 2015 was our first, I lost 20 pounds & felt great. My hubby lost 25 pounds and has stayed with it to this day and has lost a total of 80 pounds! August 2016 my second Whole30 to get rid of the last 10 pounds that I still have. Didn't go so well, first 7 days I was sick after eating breakfast. Stopped eating breakfast and I stopped getting sick. Hmmmmmm So on day 30, still bloated, gassy & miserable and absolutely no weight loss. October 2016 I will try again and eat breakfast again, if it makes me sick (as it did this AM) I will ignore it and still eat breakfast for all 30 days! Bright side will be I will probably lose weight from being sick for a month! Jeannine

Moderators ShannonM816 Posted October 10, 2016 Moderators Share Posted October 10, 2016 Hey, Jeannine. Do you think the getting sick is due to the eggs? Some people don't tolerate them well. I'm sure you'd like to figure out what's going on here, it can't be pleasant to experience that every morning. Perhaps you could try some other options and see if something else works a little better for you? Maybe bland items like baked or grilled chicken breast, maybe with a baked sweet potato with a little coconut oil or ghee and some cinnamon? Or many people find these salmon cakes to be a good breakfast option. Or maybe some soup -- a creamy blended soup made with sweet potatoes or butternut squash maybe -- I make one that started from this recipe, but now I tend to use a whole roasted butternut squash in place of the carrots, and frozen cauliflower because it's easier. The recipe is great as written, too, if you're not comfortable changing recipes. With that you'd still need to add some protein -- you could dice or shred some chicken into it, or some ground beef. Or maybe a chicken soup with lots of vegetables. Think outside the box a little and see if anything sounds like something you might be able to tolerate better, and don't limit yourself to typical breakfast foods. You might also look for some compliant ginger tea or peppermint tea -- both can be good for tummy troubles, and ginger especially seems to have anti-nausea properties. Sipping homemade bone broth can also be beneficial.
ItsTime
I hadn't thought about a sudden egg intolerance. I will try to refrain from eggs for a few days to see if I can keep breakfast down. Thank you, I will let you know what happens over the next few days. I'll have leftovers from tonight's dinner. ItsTime
Well, I stopped eating eggs for breakfast and at first, it did no good. Still got sick after breakfast but I realized that the time between eating and vomiting was increasing. And on day 8 I didn't get sick! Today (day 10) is the third day of eating breakfast without vomiting. So I will refrain from eggs for now. I am also feeling better than in my second W30 in Aug. I'm already seeing and feeling changes that happened in my 1st W30 but never happened last time. I started getting sick after breakfast, like this time, and just gave up eating breakfast to make to vomiting stop. I guess making yourself eat breakfast is a main key to W30 because I am feeling different than in Aug.
