kellyplyler
It took me a little while to get into the forum, but I'm here now! I'm currently on Day 10 and it's been a breeze so far. I have been on a keto diet before so I am used to going without carbs and cooking most of my meals, so my challenges for the Whole30 are giving up dairy and alcohol. Also, since it's been a while since I was on keto, I had let my sugar addiction creep back up, so currently dealing with sugar cravings from time to time. From past experience, though, I've learned that it doesn't take long before that disappears completely - for me, at least. Meals today: Breakfast: a banana and a handful of walnuts, black coffee Lunch: salad with baked salmon, shredded zucchini, boiled egg, grape tomatoes, guacamole, and a spritz of lime Dinner: leftover butternut squash soup, Aidell's chicken and apple sausage, brussells sprouts. Exercise today: Long walk with the dogs after work!
kellyplyler
Day 11! Yesterday and today I've been super hungry, but I'm trying not to snack. I think its because I had gotten used to carb-heavy meals of root veggies, and now that I've switched to lighter meals, I'm maybe not eating enough. Food today Is the same as yesterday. I didn't actually get out on a walk yesterday, but I did work my second job for a couple hours so I was on my feet and walking around quite a bit. Tonight I'm hitting the trail with the pups and my husband for sure! Gotta do something with all this extra energy!

Have you seen the recommended meal template? You'll falling very short of the minimum recommendation, and a few days of eating like this will have you struggling & playing nutritional catch up. Fruit should not push the veg off of your plate, and we don;t recommend that you eat it alone - particularly in the morning having fasted overnight. Try adding in some protein & veg at breakfast for a much better start to the day (& much better overall results).
kellyplyler
I agree that my breakfasts this week have not been ideal, but I didn't have time this weekend to prep anything more filling. Next week I'm planning on making breakfast egg muffins (mini quiches) with meat and veg! For now, I'm just going to suffer through my bananas and walnuts. I never ate breakfast before starting Whole30, so its a struggle to eat something that early. I'll get used to it eventually!
Chocoholic382
I think you'll feel great once you get into the swing of full breakfasts :-). They do take more prep time but I promise they're worth it. Egg muffins sound great!
