shodack
It's Day 15!! Woohooo! Anyway, I'm just impatiently waiting for some of that tiger blood to come my way... I think my afternoon slump is improving, but in general I'm tired and low energy all the time... This is the exact reason I'm doing Whole30- my energy level has just been so in the dumps this year. I'm definitely sleeping better (that started within the first 5 days!), but I'm still waking up exhausted. Eating has been great- 3-4 eggs every morning, tons of veggies and healthy fats (clarified butter, coconut oil, olives, avocado), and plenty of protein in my three meals a day, sometimes with a mini meal, but not always. I'm hungry at meal times, but rarely in between, which is a whole new feeling for me! Things have been extra hectic in my world the last few weeks, and I've also just finished weening myself off an antidepressant I've taken for years, so I know those are factors. I'm already starting to think about extending my Whole30 to see if my body just needs more time, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it! Where's my tiger blood? CoffeeBean
The phrase and definition set my expectations too high, personally. I felt I was waiting for Godot, haha. I definitely felt a lot of NSVs but the tiger blood.. was there but subtle. More like an accumulative "good" feeling (perhaps a sense of clarity). Everyone is different though: the timeline only applied to my journey in a select few ways, but never on schedule! Glad you're seeing some improvements (: keep up the good work. And I wish you the tiger blood you seek, lol
Crastney
I've seen it mentioned on here that those people who chose to eat a lot more fish in their diet are more likely to get a strong tiger blood effect. I noticed it, but as above more of a general greater sense of wellness rather than a raging energy to GET STUFF DONE.
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted October 11, 2016 Moderators Share Posted October 11, 2016 "Tiger blood" can definitely be a misleading phrase, many people miss that they're feeling consistently good and content because they're waiting for something more amazing. @shodack it sounds like your meals are good. Be sure you're drinking plenty of water (1/2 Oz per lb of body weight, so a 120 lbs person needs at least 60 ounces), and that you're salting your food. Try to get good sleep every night, do your best to keep your stress levels down, and try to do some kind of exercise, even walking or yoga if you're not up for anything more than that. All these things will contribute to how you feel. I'd also mention that people prone to anxiety and depression sometimes benefit from having more starchy vegetables each day, as well as oily fish. Getting outside into the sun each day and possibly taking a vitamin d supplement if needed can also help. And obviously, work with your doctor, especially if you feel yourself getting depressed again.

About 14 days in, my knees buckled out from underneath me and they felt like rubber. I was on my way to becoming Fat Adapted..that might take 6 weeks or more. The forum explains all of that. I had no idea what was happening to me. About 21 days, Tiger Blood showed UP at my doorstep. It's not bragging if it's true. I hadn't felt that good in years. Crastney is correct. I was eating fresh caught fish every single day and at breakfast, too. I had rainbow trout or salmon or halibut...with my eggs and roasted vege. I don't eat eggs standing alone. There was gf beef and wild game and I filled the rest of my plate with roasted vege. I didn't snack one time. Still don't. No larabars or shakes. The quality of food matters. It doesn't have to cost you a bundle, it just has to be real proteins and whole foods. Tiger Blood is not something you can work UP with your brain or emotions. You can't fake it til you make it. It's either there or it isn't. You're in for a real treat if it happens for you.
shodack
Thank you all for the replies! Today is day 16 for us, and I noticed my energy level stayed level all day, rather than feeling my usual exhausted, overwhelmed feeling at the end of work, when I come home and have to cook, take care of my toddler, clean up the wreck of a house, etc. The energy level isn't bursting like I thought it might be, but this was a really awesome change from the norm!! So I will take it, and run with it! Can't wait to see it grow as the days pass...
