Portion Control

I am on day 3 and I have been really hungry basically since I started. When I eat I feel like I have eaten too much but then 30 minutes later I feel like I need to eat again. Should I have a snack when I'm hungry or should I try to ignore the cravings? Is it better to eat larger portions at meal times and try not to snack as much or are a few light snacks between meals okay?

Ideally, you'll have meals that keep you satisfied for 4-5 hours at a time and won't need to snack unless you have a really long day. If your meals aren't keeping you satisfied, you need to look at why that is. If you make your meals meet the meal template that is linked in my signature below, you really shouldn't be hungry half an hour later.

Until you get that sorted out, if you are hungry -- not bored or emotional or just eating out of habit, but actually hungry enough that you'd be willing to eat something bland like steamed fish and broccoli -- then have a mini meal of protein, fat, and vegetables, or at least two of the three.

If you want specific feedback on your meals, feel free to post a day or two of what you've eaten, including approximate portion sizes, how much water you're drinking, and if you're working out.
