ThisSydneyGuy
Want to get my health and fitness on track before I turn 30 next year. Sick of feeling ruled by the sugar dragon and in need of behavioural change with my relationship to food.

ThisSydneyGuy
How embarrassing - clearly I don't get how these forums work. I'll keep chatting on the 10/10 forum. Thanks for the support ladies!
ColoradoGirl
Hey @ThisSydneyGuy No worries at all....I just wanted to give you an extra shout out here...you can post on as many threads or conversations at one time. I started posting on an Oct 9th (started by RockingRed) and Oct10th (started by Hillary) start thread (if you wanted to read more about my story, I wrote a few long introductions there)...so I am checking both of those daily. Sometimes there are so many different conversations it gets really confusing . How are you doing?? What day are you on? I am on Day 6. Any challenges so far?? I am giving up coffee this time too
ThisSydneyGuy
Ahhhhh got it! Thanks - this is all so new. I'm on day five - Friday night here.... I'm so exhausted and moody! Just want a big bag of potatoe chips! I'm struggling, but have been great all week. The weekend will be hard! How are you going?
jmcbn
14 minutes ago, ThisSydneyGuy said: I'm so exhausted and moody! Hey there! This could be caused by a number of things (shooting from the hip - lack of salt, lack of water, lack of fat, lack of starchy veg, all of the above...) If you'd like to check you're on the right track feel free to post a few days worth of your food/liquid intake along with activity levels & we can check to see if you need to make some tweaks... ColoradoGirl
Hej @ThisSydneyGuy! I am doing pretty well, thanks! I am struggling more emotionally than physically this time... with wanting food and coffee and sugar (but Im physically feeling ok). I think I need to decrease the carbs just a little bit this weekend though...it might be feeding my sugar dragon. There is this balance of carb intake that I find...it takes a little bit to get the "sweet spot" of not too much or too little. Your body does tend to feel crappy when it is switching over from using sugar for energy to using fat for energy. I don't feel like I'm quite at my sweet spot yet. BUT...my belly already looks just a little bit smaller which is all the motivation I needed today :D. Weekends are hard too because of social events...and I've had to bring my kombucha or sparkling water cans to parties (when I crack it open like a beer, and say "Crackin a coldie"...hahahaha...). Jmcbn has a good idea...if you want to post a day's food on here, maybe we can give you suggestions on how to feel better? (Not that I'm an expert...but there are some great moderators out there ). Maybe you are not eating enough starchy carbs for your activity level? Enough fat? (I know when I want potato chips...I need some salt and carbs. Even half a sweet potato with a dash of salt might be what your body needs??). (When doing crossfit 4 times a week, I had to up my sweet potato to 1/2 and my avocado to 1/2 per meal...but everyone is different...so it just may take a moment to find what works for you ). Keep going...sounds like you are doing awesome so far!!
